Yemen Grill — Restaurant in Sugar Land

Last week was our first visit for lunch. I wonder why they walled up the view into the kitchen. It's was wide open when the place was named Nikoz. Makes no sense to me. The guy handed out paper menus which looked old and dirty. For some reason, there were ink pen check marks on one and nothing on the others. You can't print out cleaner menus? Menu was limited compared to Nikoz. No butter chicken. Ordered our food at the front and took a seat. No ice tea and no fountain drink station. Bottled water and canned soda was all they had. Our food took FOREVER to come out. After ordering, it took 45 minutes for our food to come out. This might be the reason why we were the only ones in there. If you're press for time (lunch) better not eat here. The food was actually fairly good even though our order wasn't correct. The chicken kabob ($15) was pretty good. The gyro ($13) one diner had broke in half and the insides started falling out. Dining room looked fairly clean. However, the restroom was worse than a highway rest stop. There was a sewer smell in the men's restroom after flushing the urinal. Dirty sinks even though they just opened for the day. Its open everyday except Wednesday.

11:00 am to 9:00 pm but during weekends they are open for extended hours!

It’s our first visit since they opened. Couple of times we planned but we couldn’t go. But yesterday at last we visited first time and we enjoyed our food. Mandi is in our top favorite lists since more than 2 decades. We discovered 2 Restaurants before this in houston and we tried both many times in last 2 years.

Grilled Fish Pompano in a butterfly cut is our the most favorite which we always enjoy for our all trips.

This time first time we added Hanith Lamb also and that was also a unique dish which we only got from Yemeni Restaurant.

It’s need support from the community from them to grow and I only use in my reviews this request when someone struggling at new place. They have very good and very tasty food which you can enjoy fully without any feel that it’s...

Before I write a review I always visit a place at least 3-4 times to make sure the food tastes the same. Unfortunately, it didn’t. I’m sad because the very first time we tried the grilled chicken was delicious, we left no crumbs . Second time I tried it with my husband and we were very disappointed.
