I had the best experience at the Village of Coffee of Sunbury and this was my second time going here. This place is located in the square of Sunbury Ohio, which is close to where I live in my hometown. It is a great place for those in the community to come and get a coffee or breakfast item, then sit in the spacious cafe to work on any school work or enjoy your meal.
When pulling up to the building, I didn't notice any places for accessible parking. But all around the square, there are lots of spots for individuals to park that are close to the coffee shop. When walking up, I noticed there was a ramp instead of a staircase to enter the building, which creates easier accessibility to a person who might need an assistive walking device. Although this may be beneficial, I noticed the door was a bit challenging to open, due to having to press down on a notch on the door to push it open. Other than that, accessibility to entering this store is great!
When walking inside the coffee shop, the first thing I observed was how big the entryway is and the overall space of the store is very wide which is beneficial to those who may have issues with mobility. I also noticed that there was a diverse amount of seating in the store, meaning you could sit at a table, a booth or even on the couch by the fireplace. As I was going up to order, I liked how for the pastry items on display, they wrote everything they provide in that specific case on the glass, which is beneficial to those who may struggle with their vision. The menu board behind the bar was also very large and easy to read when I was looking to pick out a specific coffee beverage.
When placing my order, the workers were very patient and compassionate to me when I took a little longer to order. When a drink was ready, they called out my order at the end of the counter instead of calling a name. Overall, my customer experience went very well, they were very helpful with recommending things for my order and gave me assistance when needed.
As I went to go sit in the cafe, I started to observe the sensory aspects of this environment. When focusing on the noise, I noticed this space was very quiet and the only external noises I observed were the radio playing quietly throughout the store or those having conversation in the cafe. Visually, the light in here isn't too overpowering and it allowed you to see everything clearly. Lastly, when going to the restroom, there were two accessible bathrooms in the back of the store that had brail on the signs. The bathroom was very spacious as well and it is easier to get in by pushing on the door instead of pulling.
Overall, I would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone that needs a quiet place to get work done or needs to grab a coffee. The food and coffee I got were delicious and the atmosphere was a great place to sit in. I will definitely be coming...
Read moreThis is seriously the cutest coffee shop. They have managed to keep the integrity and interesting aspects of this old building while making it so comfortable and homey. They offer a good variety of seating options including a window seat looking at Downtown Sunbury or a spot in front of the fireplace. The coffee we had was delicious! They offer fresh food, sandwiches, wraps, bagels and breakfast sandwiches and etc. They have gluten free and vegan treats available too. A good option of drinks for kids and non coffee drinkers. I can’t believe we’ve never made the short drive here. They have a cute outdoor seating area too. We can’t wait to come back. The exceptional service and friendly staff was...
Read moreFirst time here, so I've got a limited experience for this review. Lovely little spot near some fun antique shopping & a really great restaurant (District 13). The caramel cappuccino was a REAL cappuccino- strong in the best way & not overfluffed with milk in order to up-sell a larger size. 👍 --If you know, you know!-- I chose decaf to see how good the espresso really is. I was not disappointed! The Ladies behind the counter were cheerful & welcoming. A huge plus. Enjoyed our seats at the big bay window. We'll definitely be back. No need to travel all the way to Starbucks in Delaware...
