Donatos Pizza — Restaurant in Sunbury

It’s Valentine’s Day - I called, they were SLAMMED at 6pm. Anyway, finally got through to Jasmine (Yasmine?) anyway, she took my order: Pizza Heart with pepperoni & sausage. I asked if they would be able to write “I love you Dad” on the box — as I was surprising my Dad for the holiday, by sending him a heart shaped pizza! She agreed to it & I gave instructions for delivery. She said it would be about two hours… glad I called when I did 😂 Anyway, I almost forgot I even made the order, but then my Dad texted me & he was THRILLED! After he sent me these photos, he called me & told me that the driver knocked on the door from the garage (as instructed) & he was confused & told the guy he didn’t order pizza, well, he determined I ordered it lol. Got it inside & opened it, BOOM! “I love you Dad!” Written inside the box, as I requested. Dad was so excited/surprised! Now, I didn’t get to eat the pizza, but have always had good experiences at Donato’s!

Thank you Jasmine (I hope I’m getting this right) & the delivery driver for appeasing my requests & following delivery...

Was here last Friday night for a pickup order. Our order wasn't done until 55 min later even though the expectation was set for 20 minutes. When I asked why we were still waiting they said that they were just now making the salad. So the pizza was getting cold in the window and the salad wasn't made. Wow. I was a large pep pizza, a personal chz, and a salad. Not a crazy order.

Then when we got home (25 min drive) the salad was wrong. Stuff in it we asked for it not to have and items missing we asked for.

I spent around 25 min waiting in their small lobby with over a dozen other customers on our food. The line was out the door, with people waiting to pay, let alone those waiting on their order. I won't be back to pickup another order until the pandemic concludes, and prob not in general .

Donatos is already much more expensive than the other chain places, and it just wasn't the experience I'm looking...

A few years back when they opened they would deliver to my house. However, the last time I tried to order delivery I was informed that they changed the delivery area and only deliver to a smaller area.

I guess since more people moved into Sunbury they decided they didnt need to worry about their loyal customers who supported them for years and would just sell pizza to the people who moved into the areas closer to the store.

A couple of months ago I ordered two pizzas for takeout and they were so disgusting we had to throw them in the trash without even eating them. I am not sure what happened but the pizzas both tasted like they were doused with tons of smoke flavor or something.
