Wah Yuen — Restaurant in Sunbury

First time I ordered from this restaurant and the food was so bad that my husband and I ended up eating something else and throwing $28.00 worth of food away. 1st: Service is horrible. It took over 30 minutes to get my food and when the server noticed my food was not up, after giving me a 15 minute wait time when I ordered, she yelled back to the cook and asked where it was. Instead of talking quietly among each other they argued back and forth about who made the mistake. 2nd: I ordered 2 beef pepper steak dinners, a won ton soul, 2 egg rolls and an extra fried rice. I got home and there was no soy sauce, thankfully it's a staple in my kitchen. The beef tasted like it was marinated in teriyaki sauce and looked under cooked . Pepper steak is not supposed to be marinated in any sauce. The sauce was weak and grease filled. The rice was mushy and wet. The egg rolls were greasy. We gave the meat to our dog and threw it all away except for the only passible item, the Won Ton soup. It was oily but edible. Lastly: the restaurant is in poor shape. Being old is okay if clean and maintained. When at the register I actually had water drip on me from the ceiling and the restaurant was just dirty. I thought this was the restaurant my husband went to previously so I let that slide because for the Sunbury area the one he went to was pretty good. Lesson learned and...

This is the first time that we decided to try this restaurant because we like to visit locally owned places as they tend to have the best food, in my opinion. I had such high hopes for this place, given the reviews and the long term patrons that seem to frequent the establishment, But alas, I was disappointed. My food was all beige, the flavor was lackluster, I mean seriously this is something that I could have prepared in my own kitchen (actually, it would have been better) the green peppers would’ve been crispier and more colorful the onions would’ve been crunchier and more flavorful and the steak would not have been over cooked and slathered in a overly sweet sauce. Our experience may not have been the greatest with this local eatery, but perhaps you will find something on the menu that satisfies your taste. We used to frequent this restaurant and always loved it. Unfortunately we moved 18 miles away, so haven't been here for at least 15 years. We decided to eat our Valentine's meal here(a day early) because it brought back such fond memories. I checked the website that said they were open today(2/13/19) from 11:30AM-9PM. Imagine our disappointment when we drove the 18 miles, and there was a closed sign with a hand-written sign that they are opening at 4:30. You should change your website.
