Blue Crab Shack And Seafood — Restaurant in Sunrise

Having lived in Maryland for 25 years, I was ecstatic to find this place! 😍They opened up less than two months ago, and (score for me) they’re only 23 min away! I ordered 1.5 dozen large/jumbo mix of live males yesterday, so we could steam them with our boys. They were clearly freshly caught, and full of life. 🦀

The owners were super personable and made sure to set some crabs aside for us when we called the day before. They knew my name by my order, and everyone else’s too. While picking up, 3 other customers came by to get theirs orders also. You could tell the owners and the business are well-loved by the community already - having long conversations with some who have been back six times already. 😲

While the interior looks a bit like they’re still moving in (spackling on walls), they have nice online order pick up warming compartments for DoorDash drivers. I would have door dashed but I live just a bit too far.

I’ve had some pretty awful crab experiences locally, especially with some places using tons of oil and garlic to cook them. 🤮

Thanks for bringing a piece of home down to south Florida and offering crabs made the right way (with Old Bay😉). Can’t wait to come back!!

I usually order my blue crabs from Maryland and have them shipped, but not anymore! I found this gem just by taking a chance and Googling "blue crabs near me" and I am so glad I did. The crabs were fresh, sweet, and meaty. I ordered large males, and they were all full! No hollows! Seasoned just right, and I got to enjoy them hot and on the spot! Barry and Carline were amazing and the friendliest people. I called in an order at 6pm for 2 dozen Blue Crabs and they said they were closing but would wait. The Crabs were ready just as requested upon arrival and Man, they were DELICIOUS, HEAVY AND MEATY!!! If you are in Broward County and in need of Blue Crabs, Snow Crabs and Shrimp the Blue Crab Shack and Seafood is your place. I would give them 100 Stars if I could.
