The tacos were above average and tasty. However, we had a poor experience due to the negligence of posting proper charges for ordering a simple glass of water. I have a family of 6 so dinner is always on the expensive side no matter where we go. After ordering I was told the bill was around $60 and after an $11 tip it totaled around $71. I paid and just thought “this is pricey for tacos, but it is what it is for a family of 6”.
After discussing with my wife and calculating the menu prices it appeared as if we had been charged $18-20 extra somewhere. We decided to go back to the counter and that is when the young lady (very nice) at the register proceeded to tell me that I was charged $2.99 per cup (6 cups total). I explained to her that it was incorrect because I just ordered tap water and didn’t get any soda. She proceeded to tell me that the cups are $2.99 no matter what you order because “so many people ask for water and then steal soda”. I was a bit taken back considering I was never told this while ordering, nor is this policy posted anywhere. So now, I was paying $20 for 6 cups of tap water. I spoke with 2 people about this and neither would get a manager for me. Wasn’t expecting a refund but just wanted to let them know they should either tell customers when they order or have it posted somewhere.
It’s just poor business. Part of offering a cup of water to customers is the understanding that tap water is “free” unless otherwise stated or posted. It’s also part of the industry that some untruthful people are going to take soda when they should only have water that they ordered. This place is making hand over fist in $$ from what I could see. They had a non stop line to get tacos. So taking a small loss on soda (which is a huge margin for them anyway) is part of doing business.
Unfortunately , this experience tainted what would have been a 5 star taco joint. Hopefully they will get this policy properly communicated to their customers in the...
Read moreThe food is incredible. That’s not what this review is about; I placed an order on the website to order a shirt Oct 2nd, and needed the shirt by Oct 12th for a gift. I got the confirmation email stating I would get a tracking number shortly, I waited a few days and didn’t receive an email. I emailed asking about it on Oct 6th and received no email back. So I decided to call today Oct 9th at 11:30am. The woman I spoke with was nice but the way the merch shop is ran seems extremely disorganized by the sound of her confusion, she told me she’d check with the other location to even see if they had anymore shirts in stock, this is confusing because why would I be able to order something if it’s not in stock? I asked her if they haven’t sent it yet could they please expedite it as I was hoping to get it by the 12th and she said that it would be very expensive to do so.. She asked for my phone number and told me she’d reach out on her personal phone after she finds out an answer. I never got an answer until I called back at 3:10 pm today. She sounded shocked and immediately told me “yeah there’s no more shirts left in stock sorry about that, we’ll have to refund you. I’ll reach out to them and let them know to refund you.” I know it’s just a shirt but the nonchalant attitude was upsetting. The lack of communication and waiting around and trying to be patient is upsetting. She obviously had that information on hand right when I called so why not just reach out and let me know? Why wasn’t the website stock updated? Very...
Read moreI want to give 5 stars, but I feel like it was a bit lacking and giving it 5 stars would not be fair to the other places that I have reviewed. First of all the location and setting is 5 stars without a doubt! You are eating outside with the sound of the ocean and can smell the salt in the air, you can't beat that! Service 5 stars and price, 5 stars. Why only 4 stars? Well, not sure if the cook just had a bad day or that is the way they prepare the shrimp tacos, but they were way too salty for my taste and health. Being a vegan who tries to eat healthy, these tacos I would not eat again, maybe the other meats were better, I don't know, but my two shrimp tacos were over the top salty. Would I complain about it? No, not at 10 bucks for my entire meal, but as I write reviews on my experience I had to include this. I only sing songs for a 5 stars and a meal or experience that makes me so happy I want to sing and to be totally honest, I left a bit disappointed, but I am thankful for being able to sit outside, eat my meal and listen to the ocean in front of me. If you are used to eating at your Outback's, AppleBees, Crackle Barrel, you'd be fine here, but I try and avoid these places because of the high salt content. I was hoping since this was not a chain, I'd get that less salty, fresh...
