Sweet island — Restaurant in Surf City

When my elderly father who gets easily confused picked up a spoon right in front of him to taste my sisters ice cream, the worker rudely tapped the sign that said dirty spoons. How about a trash can for the…trash..instead of an open container right in front of everyone. I am sure that’s not the first time that has happened. Then, I asked for a KitKat milkshake (which was displayed on a sign, by itself, as their special) and was told they didn’t have KitKats. How about take down the sign? I said thank you to the worker once I received the ice cream I ordered and got no response. Just say you’re welcome….Ice cream was good but NOT a good service experience.

Edited to add: we were also planning on ordering food, and when we said that to the same worker, he handed us a piece of paper and said “just write down what you want”. Glad we didn’t get food in hindsight because someone in our party had to wait about 10 minutes for a MILKSHAKE. Oh, and mozzarella is spelled wrong on...

I’ve been here twice after fishing and wanting something very refreshing. The first visit we got shakes, they were pretty good but it took almost 20 minutes to make 2 shakes. There was no sense of urgency on the behalf of the young lady working. The second time we visited was this past weekend and we wanted to try the hand squeezed lemonade and orangeade. There was a young man working and he said it is not fresh squeezed and that they didn’t have the orange. We could clearly see multiple oranges in the squeeze machine. So we went with was cherry and strawberry lemonades. Total was approximately $15 and the drinks, unfortunately, were so sweet and tart we couldn’t drink them and got them to go so didn’t go back in. This was my first time there, and the manager and I had a talk, and I was impressed with his down to earth demeanor, and he was an honorable man, and he truly impressed me. I recommend this place to anyone that wants great ice cream quality, good price category, and a nice atmosphere to enjoy it at.

The sweet workers were very kind and had sweet spirits, and the one that helped me was such a sweet young lady, and I was happy to tell her about it and to encourage her to continue being a sweet and thoughtful young lady. I hope much success for her.
