Sofi’s Restaurant — Restaurant in Surprise

My wife and I are always looking for a good restaurant to have as our go to place. We have found our favorite Mexican food restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and sat in our booth. We ordered our drinks and they were served right away. We decided to have the lunch special. Great choice! I ordered the chicken enchilada and taco's my wife ordered the cheese enchilada and taco's when our plates came, I'm telling you that I was looking at the pictures on the menu. I've been in restaurants at the time they were having the menu photos taken and ordered the same dish and two different plates! Not at Sofi's! When I took that first bite of my food I looked at my wife and said " This is the place " When they say " " Home-cooked " They mean just that. It's like going friends or family homes for a meal you get that food that is prepared out of love. Sofi cooks like she is at home cooking for her family. At Sofi's you are her family and treated that way. The enchilada filled with chicken for my meal and the taco loaded with Carne Asada. The same for my wife, loaded with cheese and her taco loaded up just the same. We were so impressed by our lunch that we actually went back for dinner that night! I was looking for a restaurant that served chilaquiles one sat morning after looking through several places online it seemed like a waste of time we almost gave up my wife tells me how about this one and shows me a pic of some chilaquiles that looked exactly what I wss looking for VERY SIMPLE AS THEY SHOULD BE nicely fried tortilla triangles red sauce not to dark not to light and crumbled queso fresco 2 over medium fried eggs on top ...WOW mouth just watered again I guess that's what im having this morning lol ..... so we finish getting ready we look up that address and to our surprise they're no more then 7 min away EVEN BETTER!!!!! we get there and we are greeted by no other than the owner herself super nice lady she sat us down at our table I tell her that the picture online of her chilaquiles is why we were there we order and OMFS!!!! ... didn't disappoint exactly what I was looking for i felt like I was at my mother's house having her chilaquiles no lie so yes I highly recommend SOFI's we have become regulars there she even allowed me to make my own combo now picture this RED CHILAQUILES WITH 2 EGGS ONTOP 1 CHILE RELLENO COVERED IN GREEN SAUCE ON THE SAME PLATE MIND YOU AND ARE U READY???? .. Last Friday I visited Sofi's Restaurant in Surprise. It's right next to the Peter Piper Pizza on Bell.

I opted for 3 "mini" tacos. They were full of meat, so much meat I could have made 2 additional tacos. They also threw in some rice and beans which I was not expecting as I didn't order a meal.

They had delicious home made hot salsas "chili" that complemented the tacos fantasticly. There was a hot, medium and mild, I only tried the hot and it had some kick.

The beans were delicious and had cotija cheese as opposed to the more Americanized cheddar cheese option more commonly used at Americanized Mexican restaurants. I should have ordered some more tortillas so I could have made some additional tacos with the extra meat and beans, next time I'll do that.

The wait staff was on it and the service was top notch.

If I were being super critical, the only downside I would say is the dining space. It seemed a little cold (decor wise) and could maybe use some more decorations. I like booths and there were mostly tables, but besides that minor critique, 5 stars.
