On April 30 I purchased a Meyer Lemon Tree from Moon Valley Nursery. At the time of purchase, I was told the dirt like residue on the leaves was simply dirt and would wash off. The sales representative said they get dusty from sitting out, which made sense to me at the time. It was not dirt, but rather a fungicide spray residue. This was not disclosed and I’m still being lied to about it a month later. Two weeks after purchase, on May 14, I called in and tried to speak with someone about my tree. When I connected with a gentleman on the phone, I believe his name was Troy, he didn’t ask me any questions about what was going on, he just said to water it daily and give it Moon Juice. I told him I was provided Moon Dust and he said that would shock my tree and not to give it that. He asked how long it had been in the ground and if they planted it or I did, and I told him it was still in the pot. He told me to give it Moon Juice and water, and the conversation was then over. Feeling defeated, I texted with the sales representative I purchased the tree from, showed him pictures, and inquired about the health of the tree. He told me he’d have the Arborist look at it the next day and advise. The next day I was told it “doesn’t look that bad,” and to give it half a handful of fertilizer and a little more sun (it gets full sun all day). I was then told to update them in a couple of weeks and if it still needs attention or replacement to let him know and he’ll take care of it for me. I followed up again this week on May 28, two weeks after the previous contact. After a day of no response, I was sent a quick text that the arborist would look at it tomorrow. (Noticing a trend?) On Friday, after no response, I packed up the sick leaves and fruit and walked back into the nursery asking for answers about what was wrong with my tree, considering it was a lot of money spent. I was then deferred to their tree expert who was one of the least professional individuals I have ever met in my life (I wish I would’ve caught his name, I have a hunch it was the same rude gentleman from the phone call). He told me after looking at the photos I sent the sales rep that the new growth was “sexy” and he was happy to see my tree looking like it was this time of year. I was again told there was nothing wrong with my tree, to water it like crazy, and to purchase their insecticide which would allegedly help the tree, even though this “expert” just got done telling me my tree was fine. After some research and discussion with actual tree experts, it was identified it has a fungal disease and the residue on my leaves was from a previous fungal spray application. This has not been disclosed in my numerous conversations with more than one representative at this location. They are not forthright and their business practices are shady, at best. If I could provide 0 stars, I would. I hope this review deters even one person from doing business with them. I would hate to see anyone else waste their hard earned money from a nursery that does not care about their customers or doing the right thing. If you dig a little deeper into Moon Valley Nurseries, not just this location, you’ll learn this is a common theme from customers who purchase plants or trees from them without using their landscaping services. Update July 14: The sales rep reached out to me on July 4 after seeing my review and wanted to know how he could “make it right.” After a few texts back and forth, he stopped responding, and I still have no resolution.

Not big on reviews, but highly recommend both the Nursery staff and Tree Service department at Moon Valley in Surprise AZ. Brian Hedges and Cody Landreth were my nurserymen at Surprise. Initially met Brian this summer. He actually had experience in both fieldwork and nursery, so was pleased to get some good insight after explaining my landscape situation. Also pleased that he didn't "hover" while I wandered around to get some focus and make notes as to ideas. A few weeks later, because Brian was away, Cody was able to step in and help without skipping a beat. By coordinating with Brian, Cody already knew what I was looking for and made logical suggestions as to what type, size, and more importantly, the pros and cons of selections. In the meantime, we did need some assistance with removal of mature/dead shrubbery. At that time, not aware of MVN Tree Service Department, but decided to take a chance since the plant selection aspect had gone well so far. Scheduling for cut-down and stump grinding was promptly coordinated. Guys worked steadily on two very hot days to knock out the job. Debris cleared away so nicely it almost looked vacuumed! The second crew even came out on a Saturday to get the job done on schedule. Under other circumstances, we probably could have cobbled together a crew for a minor tear-outs. but this was a fairly big job. And in our experience, it's always a better value when you need people to be reliable, on time, be mindful of your concerns and get everything done as advertised, and correctly done the first time. Ditto for the Tree Planting crew. We needed 4 very large box trees into a very small access point. Tree expert Terry and his crew showed up on time. Minimum fuss to set up and get the job started. The guys really paid attention to safety and also to getting the trees positioned just so. Cody also came by to ensure any questions or concerns we may have had were addressed in person. Attention to detail as to site clean up afterward was also appreciated. As now-retired general contractor, while we have re-done or created from scratch a number of landscape projects over the years, this proved to be one of the least stressful. All as promised. Never felt like we had to come in and do more work, or clean up, behind the work we just paid for. And good communications make you feel as if you are the best, and only, customer! Overall good value for the money with a quality plant product and personable, experienced staff. It's been about a month post- planting in the middle of 110+ and no-monsoon-yet summer. Followed directions for water and fertilizer. All looks great! Still pleased with investment of time and money. Would recommend to family, and would do business again.

I bought my house a year ago with an empty, huge backyard. I had one orange tree. I checked out Moon Valley Nursery and was so lucky to connect with Mike Brooks. I told him the types of trees I wanted and he came to my house to go over the design. I have a mix of palms, fruit trees and shade trees. It looks fabulous, thanks to Mike. Any questions I ever have, Mike is right there with the answer. I am a senior and sometimes feel marginalized, but Mike has made me feel like part of the Moon Valley family. I highly recommend this business, for the quality of the plants and the quality of the staff. PS. Saidy enjoys the palms too! I just wanted to update my review a year later. My peach, fig and nectarine trees are all producing wonderful fruit, however my apricot tree is having problems. Luckily Mike had suggested I get the warranty which I did and they are coming next week to replace it. I am very happy with the customer service and quality of the trees.

If you buy tress from this location & weren’t satisfied with their product or if you had a problem you complain, you will be on moon valley blacklist! Read my experian’s Below:

I will get to my point why I’m posting my story from 2015.

In April 2015 I purchase Palm trees & Citrus worth $1,500 I paid for planting & was done by moon valley employees. a month later I noticed 2 of the palm trees were dying. I called moon Valley nursery the guy came by my house & looked at them. & told me these 2 trees are for indoor not out in the sun.I told him than why didn't the sales person tell me that at the time I was buying them? I told him Obviously I wouldn't have bought them. He told me he doesn't know why.but no worries you have warranty on them & will replace them. He did replace them. But I was still upset why the guy lied & wasn't forthcoming about doing business with customers. I called District manager name Sal Explained it to him that sales people should be more honest with customers. Sal told me he will talk to him &, apologized! Since they replaced my 2 trees & District manager apologized for my inconvenience. I figure to give them another chance. So I went moon valley 3 weeks later to purchase some other items. But when the manager saw me he started harassing me about why I called & complained about his employees & further more I was trying to fire him & get the manger in trouble. As a customer I had every right to call & complain about what the employee did. But to get the manager mad at me because I complained was out of line & I gave him piece of my mind. I called again & complained to SAL about how manger treated me. Sal didn't Sympathy much with me. if you have an issue with moon valley & wanted to have them correct it. Just be aware that since District manager didn't assure me he will take action against the manger for lashing out on me for complaining. Sal must have encourage or allowed the manager to yell at me for brining the complaint to him.

Fast forward to June 2017. For the first time since 2015 I decided to purchase moon juice from moon valley but this time from a different location.when I got there & ready for check out at the register. The sales person asked for my phone number to use for the purchase. When he typed it first time. He looked in the Computer as he was reading the note. Then he asked for my phone number again. I gave it to him. Same thing popped up. There was a note attached with my phone number.I asked him is there anything wrong? He called his manger to show him the note was left about me. The manager told me some one wrote a note not to sell you anything. He asked me what happened? When I explained to him what I’m writing here. He told me give me a minute let me call that location just wait. 5 minutes later he came back & confirmed what I told him. the manger sympathized with me because I didn't deserve what they had done to me. & told me I will sell you what you want. I thanked him for his understand about my treatment,& as if that wasn't bad enough what they had done to me as a customer the first time. Sal & manger conspired to further punish me for writing the note to Ban me from selling me anything in the future. Now you know my story & if you will have a problem with your purchase. This can happen to you too if you complain. You have...
