Bottom line: I would come back. Not the best but not the worst. Decent price.

Atmosphere: Mid-light, spacious, not too loud

Food: No physical menu so I can’t share. Each table has a QR code that links you to the digital menu on your phone so you can just look it up.

We got the Hirata Bun (pulled pork with scallions, onion, and Mayo in a steamed bun) for an appetizer. The pork had decent flavor, but the bottom of my bun was very soggy.

My companion got the Tonkotsu Ramen for her entree. I wasn’t very pleased. It looked good but the flavor wasn’t that strong at all. You can pay an extra dollar for “rich broth”, but that seems a bit sleezy to me considering how bland it was otherwise.

I got the Ultra Spicy Ramen Level 2(basically just a spicy tonkotsu). This was a great level of spice for me. Great kick while still enjoyable. This had much better flavor than the normal tonkotsu because of the chili.

P.S in the Ultra Spicy Ramen: The menu advertises three levels of spice, but the restaurant offers up to 100 levels 😳

In both of our bowls, the fat from the pork belly was super tender as was the meat, but the meat came apart very fibrously which I didn’t find as pleasant as the “melt in your mouth” texture that you usually get with a good bowl of ramen. I did, however, like how they gave each of us an entire egg rather than a half egg which is the standard from my experience, although those eggs didn’t have much flavor from the marinade either.

Service: Our waitress was very prompt with us. She visited our table frequently to refill our water and make sure everything was fine. Our food came out very quickly as well.

Overall: I would come back again. The food wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible. It was average, and the price isn’t too bad either.

P.S. Be careful opening the front door. I gave myself a small cut on my finger because of a splinter on...

This is my go-to place for Japanese ramen I've tried different ramen places in the Atlanta area and also in Gwinnett and this place is number one. Today though was different I decided to take my mom and my dad and my brother here for the first time hoping that they will be really impressed but for some reason today everything tasted different and the quality was very different. I ordered four Tonkotsu's, One seafood ramen and three orders of takoyaki. First off the Tonkotsu's broth were very salty and not as porky and I am assuming that is because they had an influx of customers as this was a Saturday and could be that they didn't boil enough pork bone to have a rich broth. Secondly the braised pork that comes with this ramen was very dry and not as tender compared to whenever I come here during the week and they did not have that braised seasoning sauce on it and it was not juicy at all like before. Third, the garlic oil that was supposed to be on it was almost nonexistent. The takoyaki that we ordered was smaller in size and not as good compared to the ones that I'm used to them serving I was under the impression that they were making the takoyaki there fresh but seems like this is the cheap store-bought pre-made ones that they are serving. And then lastly my mom ordered the seafood ramen that was pretty salty as well I was expecting more Umami flavor but if they actually lessen the salt on it a tiny bit it would have been perfect. I truly hope that the quality is not going down I'm definitely going to come back here again and I'm going to give this review another update as this is my favorite place compared to...

I have been here 3 times. Their service has always been pretty decent, the food, great! However, last night my friend and I visited and I ordered the Ultra Spicy level 1, which I always get. It has just the right amount of spice. However, last night, our main dish came before the appetizer and when we asked our server where our appetizer was she said they were still cooking it (do not tell your customer they're still cooking your appetizer). Then, I realized that my ramen was beyond hot and just too spicy for me to eat. I told my server if I could get something that was less spicy, that I always get this one and it was too spicy to eat. She told me that I would have to pay for another one, and in a rude manner she says, "..and I don't think you're gonna want to pay for another one." I've worked in the service industry before, if someone doesn't like something and really cannot eat it, then you replace it for them or fix the problem. You do not tell them that they have to pay for something else. The manager came over and he finally fixed it for me and was really helpful. Our server then disappeared and didn't pay us any attention. Then, another server told us their credit cards weren't working and we would have to go the ATM across the street to get money to pay....ummm what. Then the manager said they were working and he processed our payments. Never saw our original server. Was the weirdest experience. Great food, but needs better...

My fiancé and I were looking for a new place to add to our usuals and are very happy with Umaido. The place itself is not very large and had an industry feel to it. The seating is limited to a large, communal, high top, bar seating, and only a few individual tables. When we went at about 6:30 on a Sunday, we had a short wait for a bar seat in front of the open kitchen. We started out with pork goyza, braised pork belly, and a fried shrimp steamed bun. We had two ramen bowls, one honey miso and one seafood, plus some house sake. The appetizers all came out fairly quickly and were all cooked and presented well. The ramen gets fresh sweet corn, bean sprouts, seaweed, and green onion to top it with. The honey miso was light and sweet, the seafood was rich with the flavors of shrimp and scallops. Though I recommend eating the scallops and other seafood quickly, as it can overcook in the soup. Also, beware of the hot and spicy red sauce. When they say it's spicy, they mean it's spicy. One dip of your chopsticks into that stuff and you're sweating. I was really impressed with the service because it appeared that one girl was serving everyone and who appeared to be the manager was both in the kitchen, seating people, and bussing tables. The two of them ran the whole front of house while about five others cooked in the back.

Ordered the Ultra Spicy Ramen (Level 3) and the Honey Miso Ramen, both with the $1 upgrade to a "Rich Broth" which is meant to enhance the flavor of the broth with chashu fat. We read lots of good reviews on google and reddit and thought we'd give it a try. But the flavors did not meet our expectations. The highest spice level was not actually spicy. I cannot handle high spice, so the fact that I could handle the highest level of spice here is pretty telling. And there was no telling whether the Rich Broth was added or not because the Honey Miso broth was incredibly lacking. No real depth of flavors on the tongue. It was all pretty surface level. The toppings and chashu were fine, but nothing in particular stood out. It's definitely edible dishes, but it's not going to be the best nor most memorable ramen you'll ever have. Coming from someone who has had ramen at all major US cities. However, locally, this could be the standard of the ramen scene in Atlanta. I'm not sure as I don't live here. But if so, I'm glad that there is a place that can suit the locals. Do keep in mind that the vibes, the casual but chic interior, and service were all fantastic. Their bathrooms also had heated toilet seats, which was such a nice surprise.
