If you're looking to up your intake of grease by a few hundred percent, then Ray's Pizza has just the deal for you! I recently ordered two large pizzas from them, with high hopes. However, what I was served would've been more fitting in an automotive workshop than on a dining table.
The pizzas looked more like a crime scene than a delicious meal. I've seen less oil at the end of a NASCAR race! The grease didn't just keep itself to the pizza either, no, it had to break free and explore the interior of the box too. Not only was my pizza bathing in its own oil, but the box seemed to be in some sort of unrequited love affair with it. I mean, who knew cardboard had such a strong affinity for pizza grease?
Picking up a slice of pizza turned into a high-stakes game of chance. Will the cheese stay or will it slide? Spoiler alert: it slid, every single time. The cheese was off the pizza faster than a kid on a slip 'n slide. You'd think the cheese was in a hurry to get away from the oil-soaked dough and frankly, who could blame it?
Ray's Pizza has outdone itself in creating a dining experience that feels more like a particularly unpleasant episode of a reality show – "Survivor: Grease Island". It was an unpalatable journey through grease-infested waters. It might be a sight for those who enjoy oil painting, but not when you're hoping for a satisfying meal.
Overall, I would've given Ray's Pizza a zero star rating, but unfortunately, the system requires at least one. The pizza was far from appetizing and I'm fairly certain I've aged my arteries by at least a decade. If you are looking for the equivalent of a culinary oil spill, then this might just be the...
Read moreOk, we order out way too much, but at least I’m qualified to name the best pizza place in the Swedesboro-Woolwich area. Possibly Gloucester county. Ray’s is always consistent and the quality of the food is always great. Everyone in there is friendly and attentive. Mistakes happen, and a lot of places in town make them all the time. One place, that will remain nameless, screws up our orders almost every time. Ray’s has made one mistake in three years and they made it right and threw in some extras. The one downside is that they do not deliver. It’s a bummer, but that’s probably how they make sure the quality is high. I almost feel that some of these local places shouldn’t offer delivery if they can’t get it to you quickly. By the way, we have picked up from other places and it didn’t make much of...
Read moreThey treat every customer like they've known them forever so you leave with a smile on your face after picking up your awesome pizza. I haven't even moved on from their pizza to try anything else they make yet because it's so good. It's hard to find crust that is just the right mix of a rich yet light flavor + just the right amount of crisp and thickness. Sauce must be homemade because it has a distinct flavor that really compliments the crust and marries the cheese. I have worked in a dental office next door for years and I order a couple pizzas to bring home 40 min away (since my 3.5 year old who doesn't eat anything at all fell in love with it) everytime I work in that office now.
This is where to...
