Ok…. This is probably a fun place to party. But don’t expect much from the late night menu. Unless you have had plenty to drink. I am staying down the street and got in late. I was just wanting dinner, late dinner, but dinner nonetheless. I chose the burger. The menu offered a bbq, 1/2 lbs burger with bacon, cheese and onion ring. A little much for a late meal, but I had eaten nothing ALL day. (Not true: I had a piece of cheese at 11:30 this morning, so almost nothing). The burger came with fries. The waiter was polite and helpful. The price was fare, twenty two bucks with tax. That’s dang near what a Mickey D’s burger and fries cost these days. The meal was ordered to go. Now…I’m not sure what went wrong. I was told the burger would be out in about 15min. It took a bit longer, but not that much. My walk back to my hotel was three min. I must have been abducted by aliens, gone through a time continuum or blacked out from the strong glass of water I drank while waiting for my dinner. Because that burger was cold when I took it out of the container. Not cool, not “not hot”, but colder than the room temp. The bun was stale, bacon was hard and the onion ring was soggy. Don’t even get me started on the fries. You know how leftover fries taste when you try to eat them a couple hours after you’re too full to finish your meal? Well those would be better than these fries were. Remember, I said I had not eaten ALL day? Well, I still haven’t. After three hungry bites of that burger, I could not take any more. I kept trying to get a decent fry out of the bunch and finally threw in the towel after about six of the unpleasant suckers. If I was to compare this burger with past burgers I would have to put it right up there with the school lunch room burgers of my long ago high school years. It won’t kill you, but you would have to be a starving teen to get it down. I gave the server 4 stars instead of 5 because he should have been able to tell he was serving me a cold burger and fries. Otherwise he...
Read moreWent here twice this week on Friday and Saturday
Pros and cons We had the trifecta the first night which was pulled pork, ribs and brisket. All of it was great and our beans and Mac were very good. However, when we were done eating we could not get our check. We asked 3 different servers since ours disappeared and finally got the wrong check. We paid anyway because we needed to leave.
2nd night we made a reservation for several couples. Table was availanle on time and great. However our server was clearly not happy from the start. Major attitude despite our group being polite and laid back. Took over 25 minutes to get our first drinks and we were not offered to order another so we starting ordering from the bar directly. She initially refused to take our food order after the drinks were delivered because it was "too loud", (bagpipe band was playing). Weird since this place is always loud once the music starts. Orders were not correct but by the time we got them we just ate because we were starving.
We again had a problem getting our bills. Significant delay and only some couples got them-some didn't. Waitress was impatient when we asked again for our bill after the other couples at our table had paid. She did remove some of the incorrect food which was appreciated.
It was very busy and it's odd they take so long to let you pay. You would think that they need the tables for other guests. Guessing some people just walk out without paying.
Other commenter are correct thar the bathrooms smell badly of urine.
Upsides..great party atmosphere...music and dancing is worth the inconvenience of poorly managed waitstaff. Bartender was awesome. Security is plentiful, well trained and personable.
We will be back but will ask for the check at the time we order and just get additional...
Read moreGood food, very nice waitress, but we happened to arrive during a transition time on Friday night between when most of the patrons were just there to eat (like we were). The kitchen served me some spoiled shrimp on a cob salad that the did a great job of correcting, but while I was waiting for my food I stepped outside for a smoke. And as I was walking back in, one of the security staff yelled at me saying "Hey! Hey!! HEY!!!" At which point I looked over and this security person insisted I wear a wristband to reenter the building. I told him I have a table and that I am eating and I just stepped out to have a smoke and they had seen me even when I had originally stepped outside! So I agree to wear the wristband but go back to my table feeling really bewildered and upset for having been yelled at for doing nothing wrong. The food arrives and I do not feel like eating it. I ask for a box, box it up and as I was about to leave another security guard approaches me and wants me to wear a wristband. I informed him that I was leaving, which should have been clearly obvious from the food boxed up and the black folder containing the bill that was signed on the table. I told him about my experience with the security staff outside and asked him why I was being singled out to wear a wristband to eat when no one else in our immediate view had a wristband or was being asked to wear one? I left feeling upset and confused at why I was being treated differently than everybody else. I was there with my husband...maybe that could be why but I don't know. Again, the kitchen fixed their mistake, the server was perfect, but the security staff completely soured my evening. I do not pay an establishment to...
