I asked the waitress where the dish was, but she looked confused. I repeated my question about the other dish, but she looked at me as if she didn't understand. When I asked about the rice and grilled beef, all she said was 'rare beef pho'. I pointed to the sign on the wall, but she only repeated 'rare beef pho' as if that's all she knew. Feeling defeated, I agreed to have one rare beef pho instead, and it came out instantly. The broth was good, but definitely not the best I've had. I did particularly like the meatballs in the combination pho though. I don't know if most places use the same frozen meatballs, but both the texture and flavor were better than every other pho place I've tried meatballs at. I usually avoid meatballs at pho places, but a friend had recommended I try them at Pho Bac Cafe. Not a major minus, but I had asked for no tripe in my combination and got some anyway.
