Do NOT eat here. I had the worst experience I have ever had with fast food. I went there tonight at 7:30pm excited to eat a burrito. They close at 10:00pm and I knew they would have plenty of time to make my food. They put on their menu “burritos served all day.” I ordered my boyfriends lota combo and ordered my bacon burrito. I was told “we don’t have burritos tonight.” I asked, “Do you not serve them all day like the menu indicates?” I was told, “not tonight.” We were the only car in the drive thru and the inside was closed. As we waited for my boyfriend’s order, I decided to try and order the burrito online. I was shocked to see that it was available. I ordered the burrito online and paid. My boyfriend’s food came out and we waited the extra fifteen minutes for my burrito. In the time we waited not a single car came through the drive thru (that’s 20 minutes total without another costumer, but us). I went back through the drive thru to get my burrito and I said, “I thought you didn’t have burritos? I am very confused.” The employee said, “we told you that because we are short staffed and didn’t want to make them. I said, “so you lie to your customers? You haven’t had anyone, but us come through your drive thru for 20 minutes.” He said, “chill out do you want your burrito or not?” At this point I was completely shocked. I had been lied to insulted, and threatened about not receiving food that I had already paid for. I asked him his name and was told “Don” I asked for the manger and he said. “That’s me Don.” I can’t believe a manager would treat paying customers like that. I totally get being short staffed and stressed, but they had no other customers and 2 hours until close. I think something should be done about this. I’m just in disbelief and don’t plan on returning. I also plan on telling everyone I know that it doesn’t appear that they value their customers, makes me think they probably don’t value their employees either and thats why they are short staffed. Avoid this place at all costs.
*If you see the response from the owner, below they tried to mock me by capitalizing LotaBURGER as if to emphasize that this issue is my fault because they specialize in BURGERs not burritos. This is not only completely rude and condescending, but also not factual. The burritos are extremely popular, in fact the majority of these reviews are about their burritos and they’re on their menu. I’m sorry if you can’t make a product on your menu that’s a bad management issue not a me issue. I plan on mentioning all of this in my discussion with corporate. I just hope everyone else can see how completely disrespectful this place is; they lie to their customers, insult them, and clearly lack good...
Read moreSo...this is going to be a detailed review. I’ve loved Blake’s Lotaburger since my childhood. Over the last 20 years I’ve frequented the Bernalillo location. Historically it has been awesome with fantastic green chili and customer service. Unfortunately, when they changed locations, moving to Santa Ana, everything declined. The first time I went, I was excited about the new location. The building is beautiful and it has a drive thru!! Well..first experience...left to find my order was wrong, hamburger was dry, unseasoned, and they forgot the green chili. Ok, they were new, working out the kinks, and we chalked it up to training new people, etc. No harm, no foul. Next experience, drove all the way from a Placitas for a green chili cheeseburger. Wait for it...they were out of green chili. So, we went elsewhere. Any self respecting, New Mexican doesn’t eat a burger without green chili. Third experience, stopped the morning of a garage sale and purchased burritos for all involved. Apparently I hadn’t learned my lesson and failed to check each burrito. When we began opening them, two of the 4 burritos were wrong. I called the manager. He wasn’t terribly friendly. But, he did offer me replacements if I came back within 7 days. I live over 20 miles from their location. Needless to say, I didn’t make it back and was out over $10. Last night, my husband and I were selecting where to go. I was craving a green chili cheeseburger and we discussed Lotaburger since we were close. He reminded me that they’ve yet to get our order right. So we went elsewhere. Today, I decided to give a breakfast burrito a shot knowing that I needed to check my order before leaving the drive through. Well, you’ll never guess...my sausage burrito had no sausage, very little green chili, and about two pounds of cold hash browns. After opening the burrito, I knocked on the window to ask for what I ordered. She took it, came back stating that the sausage was in the eggs. It wasn’t. I asked for a new one. I watched from the drive through as they all laughed, looked at me, laughed some more, etc. I sat there debating on whether I should accept what they bring to me following witnessing this behavior. I took the “new” burrito, briefly checked, and glanced up at the smirking drive through gal as I drove away. When I was able to fully open the burrito, I discovered it was the same one the drive thru girlie had taken. No changes except some chunks of sausage thrown in. Needless to say, I was afraid to eat the burrito, called the corporate office, and will not return. I highly recommend that you select another Lotaburger location. I hope the District Manager will return my call and adequately address this situation for...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience with Blake's Lotta Burger
My recent experience with Blake's Lotta Burger left much to be desired, and I must say, it was far from the positive dining experience I was hoping for. From the moment I took my first bite, it became clear that this iconic burger joint failed to live up to its reputation.
Let's start with the lotta burger itself. The patty was dry and overcooked, lacking any juiciness or flavor. It seemed as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long, resulting in a disappointing and lackluster taste. The texture was equally unimpressive, with a dense and chewy consistency that was far from enjoyable.
Accompanying the disappointing patty was the sad excuse for toppings. The lettuce was limp and wilted, the tomato slices were pale and tasteless, and the cheese lacked any discernible flavor. It was clear that freshness and quality were not priorities at Blake's Lotta Burger, as these lackluster toppings did nothing to enhance the overall experience.
To make matters worse, the bun was dry and stale, almost as if it had been left out for hours before serving. The lack of attention to detail in such a fundamental component of a burger is truly disheartening. A good bun should be soft, slightly toasted, and complement the flavors of the patty and toppings. Unfortunately, Blake's Lotta Burger missed the mark entirely in this aspect.
The service at Blake's Lotta Burger was equally disappointing. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked any genuine enthusiasm for their work. There was a distinct lack of attention to customers, and my order was mishandled and took an unnecessarily long time to be served. The overall lack of professionalism and customer care only added to the frustration of the entire experience.
In terms of pricing, Blake's Lotta Burger was not worth the cost. The subpar quality of the burger and its toppings, coupled with the lackluster service, made it feel like a complete waste of money. I would have expected better value for the price paid.
In conclusion, my experience with Blake's Lotta Burger was a disappointment on multiple levels. From the dry and flavorless patty to the lackluster toppings and stale bun, the quality and taste fell far below expectations. Combined with the lack of attentive service, it's safe to say that I won't be returning to Blake's Lotta Burger...
