I'm giving the food 0 stars because none of the food was cooked properly. My "over easy" eggs were cooked as if they were hard boiled, my bacon was so salty that I couldn't take more than 2 bites, my French Toast was cold. Another of our party ordered soft scrambled eggs and they were pellets. In addition because of construction all of the handicap spots were taken and we're all over 70 and most of us require a handicap spot. One of our party inadvertently parked in one of the pick up spots (which were not being used) and fortunately the waitress (Skylar) was kind enough to alert us to the possibility of his car being towed. By the time he moved his car the food he ordered was cold. While the GM was extremely sympathetic and understanding he expressed that as the parking issue was concerned he had no ability to keep a car from being towed. As for the food issues, he did comp the two meals that were problematic and gave us his card with his cell number and advised us to call next time we came in and he would cook for us personally. The group I was with is a group that meets every Tuesday for an early lunch and we have been doing so for at least ten years. It took me a great deal of effort to get them to go to someplace other than the restaurant we've been going to for the past four years and I was able to attract them to IHOP because of the good food and reasonable prices. Had it not been for Skylar and her "exceeds expectations" customer service capability and sunny disposition our lunch would've been ruined. She deserves to rise through the ranks with IHOP and Mr. Bryant assured me she will be recognized for her abilities. I will also say that Mr. Bryant did everything he could to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, I think it will be a long time before this group will be willing to give IHOP another opportunity. Perhaps corporate should rethink some of their policies and procedures in the future. Giving a tow company authority to tow a car without first checking with management is a very slippery slope. I know that sometimes there are extenuating circumstances, as there were today, and giving a company, especially a tow company, carte blanche to tow a car is a very poor policy. Suppose a legitimate pick up customer had car trouble and was waiting on someone such a AAA to come and get their car and your tow company towed them. I know if it were to happen to me IHOP would be paying for a whole lot more than the cost of retrieving my car. Perhaps your hiring and training polices for your cooks should be reviewed as well. I can honestly say this is not the first time I've had a meal served incorrectly at this particular location. Again, I want to emphasize that Mr. Bryant and Skylar went out of their way to mitigate the situation but the issues that arose shouldn't have ever occurred. I want to thank Skylar and Mr. Bryant for their efforts to resolve our situation and it is only because of their attention to the matter that I and my friends and family will be returning to this particular IHOP. Read moreWhen we arrived there was another person waiting to be seated ahead of us. After standing there for eight minutes someone finally came out of the back and took us to a table. After about five minutes we moved to another table because heater exhaust above the table was blowing so hard it was uncomfortable seating there. Another five or six minutes went by and finally someone stopped by the table and asked if we wanted anything to drink. It took ten minutes to get a cup of coffee and a glass of milk. The other gentleman who was seated ahead of us was completely ignored and finally got up and left. When our food finally arrived mine was cold and the shredded beef on top of the omelet was dried out and burnt. My pancakes were cold as was my wife's waffle. I sent mine back and asked the young woman if they could please turn down the extremely loud rap music so we could at least hear each other as other customers were actually having to speak loudly over the blasting music. I heard the young girl ask someone in the kitchen area if the music could be turned down and the reply was " say what, what you mean turn da radio down?" The female manager brought my second meal to the table and I asked her if she could hear the loud rap music? She said "sorry about your breakfast being cold I is training a new cook" I asked again about the loud music and the manager said "the radio was preset to that level." My wife finished her waffle and I ate about half of mine and got up to leave and pay the check. We had to wait for another five minutes for someone to come up front in order to pay the bill. Strangely enough, when I handed here the money, she reached in her pocket for the change a handed me a couple of singles, a five dollar bill but said she didn't have the correct charge so she gave me two nickels and then placed the twenty and ten dollar bills in her pocket. As we were leaving, the loud rap music was still blaring throughout...
Read moreKitchen was extremely slow and disappointing. While waiting for food we asked for coffee. The coffee brought out was luke warm and unpleasant to drink. We then requested a pot of coffee at table, which was warmer(pot was warm to touch, but coffee was still not hot as we liked). We accepted that this was the best we would get and did not complain further. After a loooong wait, My granddaughter and my food was brought out first, but was not hot at all! It bordered on cold when served. Pancakes had butter on top that just sat there, unable to melt! We requested it be sent back for reheating. My wife still did not have her food! When our food was returned at satisfactorily temp, my wife's food was still not ready. After inquiring, it was then discovered that the kitchen had overlooked her food order and had not even started. They then cooked it right away and delivered to table after me and my granddaughter had already began eating. I had requested my steak be cooked medium well, but it was tough and chewy. The only enjoyable part, I had to nibble from around the bones. The experience was horrible and the manager never came to our table(although we never requested one, I thought it was customary when such issues are encountered). Our waiter, Chris T, was very apologetic and accommodating. He made the experience better by being sympathetic to the issues that we were encountering from the kitchen, and addressing our every concern. Because of the great service from Christ T, I would consider upgrading the 'F' grade(for total dining experience) to a 'C-'...
