Really not sure what all the good reviews are about this place.
First off: this is the textbook definition of gentrification and not in the good way. Visit here once and youāll get what Iām saying. Overhyped influencer spot with overpriced food.
Second: got here at 11am and they were already sold out of both everything + plain bagels. They also had no ingredients left to make any of the bagel sandwiches. We attempted to then order one of the two bagels they had left with just creme cheese and were told all kitchen items would take 45 minutes to make. FORTY FIVE MINUTES TO TOAST A BAGEL AND ADD CREME CHEESE!! Once we heard that, we decided against food and just ordered coffee. Coffee took 15 minutes to make and was just okay. Very bitter.
I feel like Iām living in an alternate universe if this is whatās considered a quality eating establishment. Worried more about the appearance and aesthetics rather than the actual food and experience. Social media and influencers have ruined societyās idea of whatās actually a good place sadly. But hey, you got your cute IG picture I guess?
I will say the branding is on point, though. The logo with the manatee is instantly recognizable and the reason why the vast majority of people wind up even giving this place a try (IMO) so great job...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh Pete's where do I begin? Food: My Bagel was soft and fresh. I unfortunately had to navigate the 1 inch layer of cream cheese caked between the heavenly bagel.I ended up removing the majority. It felt sinful wasting all that cream cheese. The Coffee cake was unfortunately stale. I found some almonds but it was not marked as containing them.I luckily don't have a nut allergy but that can be potentially an issue for some. The tag simply said "coffee cake". Coffee....I ordered a cappuccino. It tasted slightly like vinegar perhaps spoiled milk?? Service: Cashier seemed annoyed to be taking orders. I felt like immediately leaving but after waiting 15 minutes to order I was in it to win it. I visited on April 30th. Ambience : Gorgeous location with the sweetest dog playground. The layout is a bit awkward with the register infront of the kitchen walk way. I felt like I was in the way as I was waiting to order. The operations flow is off. Bagels come out but then there is an additional wait for beverages and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis local hangout just opened in Ybor City about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I only gave them a three star during this soft opening but I can see them getting very high ratings later. Pros: great location next to a dog park, plenty of outside seatings, friendly staff, dog friendly, good selection of pastries, pastries are fresh, coffee is good, good ambiance Cons: limited variety of bagels (5 kinds with no sweet option), we were never asked if we want the bagel toasted, bagel was chewy, they wonāt warm up the pastries, no sugar free syrup for coffee, limited bagel sandwich options, menu was written on a card and not posted- not too sanitary, no sign that the lot across is parking for them so we had to pay for street parking, labels on the cream are so small, no options for sweeteners except for sugar and stevia. This place has so much potentials. I hope they are open to some constructive criticisms. We will...
