Royal Orchid Bar and Grille Restaurant — Restaurant in Tampa

The food here was absolutely phenomenal. However, the atmosphere here was non-existent. We actually almost left without eating because when we walked in it was so quiet and there were no employees to be seen. After about 2 minutes of us meandering in a little further, since the sign clearly stated "open, come in", a guy jumped up from a booth, ran over to us and asked, "do you want to eat?" Since it was late and we had had a long day, we said sure. After a few moments, the server swaggered over and asked, "what are you drinking?" We ordered our beverages and he quickly left. A bit later he returned with our drinks and said, "Are you ready to order?" I asked what dressings they had and he had to go find out. We ordered our dinner. He walked away. Almost immediately, we saw him walking through the dining room on the phone, he shouted to the guy sitting in the booth, "I'm going outside to smoke." Eventually, our food was unceremoniously dropped at our table and the guy walked away. To be clear, the food tasted absolutely wonderful. We never got checked on, never got refills on our drinks. First let Me say that this place has lots of potential. However their waiter has brain fog and does not seem to understand the importance of making sure the order is right. They make everything to hot and spicy even though they offer different spice levels. The so called All American Burger was NOT American at All. The burger does not even come with cheese or any of the fixings like onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles. The burger was over cooked and dry (Yuck) not American at All. The resturant has a Pool table and foosball ball table that They claim are both broken, however I feel they just didn't want anyone to use them, which makes the place very boring. Why even have the two tables in there if you dont want the customers to use them. My Family spent a lot of money in this place only to be disappointed with over spicy food, dry Attitudes and boring atomospere. They could have done so much better but didnt care enough to do so. The restaurant itself is pretty aesthetically. Hjowever there are need for some major improvements in customer service. Not only did it not open on time, 7:10, to be exact when it says 7, but the server was unapologetic about being late and just came and unlocked the door. He didn't even hold it open for me or the handicapped gentlemen who was waiting to eat as well. My water sat empty the whole time, server never came by to ask how my food tasted which was mediocre and not worth $8.95. I needed to leave ro get ready for a business meeting, my plate sate with napkin and silverware on it clearly stating i was fiinished and ready for my bill. The gentleman was the oonly server just failed to recognize this. Overall just disappointed and I'm staying in the hotel connected to it and I will not be dining here again.
