I will never go here ever again. Last night was my first and last time. My cousin bought food from outside she was asked not to eat it in there and that was fine she didn't eat her food. After we purchased like 8 drinks my cousin and I were talking to each other and this guy ( who I assume is the owner) yells at my cousin Are you talking to me? I was stunned because here I am thinking this is a classy place. She yells back at him that she wasn't talking to him. He then turns, gets on the elevator and says Y'all need to leave because y'all ain't supposed to be here no way! Again I'm stunned because I needed clarification on that statement. Are you saying that because we're black or just about the group of people I came with? Like I said this was my first time there. He comes back with security and security asks us to leave. I asked can we at least finish the drinks we purchased? Security let us finish our drinks and we left. Black people they will gladly take your money but they really don't want you there! Any Little thing you do, even if they started it because like I said he yelled at my cousin first. After you've bought drinks and cigars you will be asked to leave. They don't want you there. This upscale cigar bar & lounge is aptly named. It is by far the most classy & first rate cigar bar & lounge in Ybor City. From the attentive & friendly servers & bartenders, to the incredibly knowledgeable management, who know everything about cigars from A to Z, to the cool & chic decor inside, this new cigar bar & lounge is THE JEWEL of all the many cigar bars in Ybor City. Their cigar selections are 1st rate, the call liquors are exquisite, & the outdoor seating areas are perfect to hang out with friends or great for date nights. Oh, & they have great coffee, espresso, & latte drinks too. The clientele are super chill & very friendly. I never have had so many strangers in a public place say hello to me & strike up conversations. Also, on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday each week they have great live jazz music. The establishment is on the 4th floor, which also makes the environment seem more quiet & intimate than the normal hustle & bustle that goes on down on 7th Avenue. Now, this great establishment only seats 70 maximum people, but to me that just adds to the appeal of this chic cigar lounge. Sterling Cigar Lounge is THE Cigar spot in Ybor. Its elevator access gives it a “Member’s Only” feel of exclusivity. While its rooftop view of downtown Ybor, you get a bird eye’s view of Tampa Bay’s only true historic neighborhood. There is a humidor where you can either buy access to store your cigars on premises or purchase a very wide selection of Cigars ranging from a variety of price-points. The elongated design of Sterling’s and excellent Air Conditioner and Air Filtration systems allows the Cigar smoke to quickly disperse, so you don’t have that stale cigar smell disrupting your visit. The Full Bar stocks a variety of Spirits, with my personal favorite, “Buffalo Trace” as it’s Well Bourbon. The Bourbon selection isn’t deep (largely due to Tampa’s liquor nazi’s limited supply) but Sterling’s list is growing. The Bartender’s are classically trained, and if “The Captain” is behind the bar, consider yourself lucky that you showed up on the right night.
