DO NOT EAT HERE. Me and a couple of friends decided to stop by, and grab a quick bite before heading into the office. When we entered the restaurant we were met with eye rolls and a fake greeting. The food was beyond disgusting. I got a simple egg and cheese sandwich, they gave it to me with stale bread and undercooked eggs. Our server was rude and angry. She definitely doesn’t like to work there because she was taking her anger out on us. Saying snide comments under her breath as she came by. But it wasn’t the food or the service that brought me to give this 1 star, if i could I’d give it negative stars simply because of their owner, Carl. We brought to his attention that perhaps his server, wasn’t having the best day, explaining we heard the comments. But he refused to listen. Carl was rude and absolutely ignorant. I’ve never in my 20+ years of entrepreneurship and business owning have I met another business owner with the lack of awareness, compassion, and IQ that Carl showed. We wanted to support his small business as we ourselves our business owners, but because of him we’ll never eat there again, and well make sure that no one we know, our other business owners, come in and support Carl or his laughable “business”. He owns a seafood truck as well. That i know a couple people who are there, that got sick from it. STAY AWAY FROM ALL...
Read moreI’ve lived in Tampa my entire life and got takeout here for the first time today, and I’ve been missing out! It’s a small place with a few tables but it’s very cute, clean and the customer service was great. My order only took 10 minutes even though the place was full with a lunch crowd. I got two deli sandwiches, soup, and two Jamaican beef pockets for like $25 and I’m so impressed with how delicious the sandwiches were coming from such a tiny little hidden gem attached to a gas station. Don’t let that scare you off by any means. The bacon on my club was fresh and crispy, the beef on my Reuben was perfect, and the soup of the day was split pea which was very fresh, a hefty portion. The side potato salad that came with my sandwiches was some of the best I’ve ever had, and if this place wasn’t off the beaten path serving us ybor city/channelside residents, then all the other overpriced south Tampa delis I’ve been wasting my money at would be given a run for their money!...
Read more"We went here for Jamaican food. We didn't see any on the menu and our waitress told us that everyday they have different specials and today they had jerk chicken. Obviously that's what we ordered at 8 $ a plate. We did wait a while for our food, but I was fine with that. The cafe is nicely decorated and clean. You can dine in or order out as well as patio seating. You can also order breakfast any time of day. The portions are large. The jerk chicken was superb served with red beans and rice and veggies. I did not really like the assortment of veggies, but next time I will try the potato salad instead. The jerk chicken was soft and could be pulled apart with your fork. Well seasoned. The only thing I did not like is that I got part of the chicken back and it had lots of little bones that broke off into the jerk sauce. Either way this place is excellent and I will be back for more specials as well...
