Nice dog park. One side for small dogs the other for large breeds, side by side with a fence dividing the two. Grass is artifical with pop up water heads that come on at various slow/off times to clean any accidents. Poop bags provided if you happen to forget yours, little water fountains dogs can drink out of. Protection from the sun and/or rain due to it being under the expressway. Friendly, pet people and well behaved dogs for the most part. Parking can be a little funky when it's busy but it works out. This is a good place to spend some quality time with your dog. There are large, real world drain pipes that the dogs can run in and out of or jump on top of and usually someone leaves a Frisbee or ball or some kind toy behind that becomes community property and gets played with by everyone. Mostly the dogs like to run around with other dogs they have just met or dogs they know from their last visit. They will have a lot of fun and beg you to bring them back. On a more personal note, naming this dog park after Deputy John Kotfila, Jr., was a good way to honor his memory as he was also a dog lover. Thank you for...
Read moreStopped here when headed over to Tampa on a mini road trip and had my furry co-pilot with me. Wanted to surprise him with something fun to do to. Thought this was kind of unique and cool use of intercity space that doesn't usually get used efficiently.
Our pup loved it. The fur babies and their humans were all delightful. They have a small and large dog areas. Each side has water fountain, trash can, and dog bag dispenser ( which when we were there were fully stocked). I didn't pay much attention to small dog side but large dog side had tubes to run through. Items to jump up on at tried heights and room to run. Being under the underpass it provides shelter from weather as well.
Note there are signs that if you don't pick up after your dog there is a $150 fine. Parking looked limited and has a hour limit but there looks to be another parking lot next door but I am not sure if that can be used for dog park or not. When we went it was pretty busy but was still able to get parking no problem. At least where I parked no...
Read moreGreat dog park downtown. It's underneath the overpass which makes it shaded from the sun. This park even has a slight breeze from traffic overhead. The dog park has two sides, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The grass is that fake turf made for dogs, a bit thicker as not to hurt the paws of the dogs. Both sides have places to sit and concrete with wooden tops for the adventurous dogs to jump on. There are also dog poo bag dispensers and water fountains. I dinged a star because of all the dog poo that the owners left on the turf. C'mon, if you bring your dog, pay attention and get off your phone long enough to clean up after your dog. Just common courtesy here, not to pretend not to see your dog taking a No. 2 then leave. I can go on about this about other parks too, it just makes it a nicer place to visit for everyone. Anyhow, nice little area to take your dogs and to stay out of the heat. Parking is on the left and right sides of...
