When our drinks were brought to the table, the root beer was mostly carbonated water, and only had a slight tint of brown. It was surprising it was brought to the table considering its appearance. This by itself would not be a big deal, but considering the rest of the lunch, it was just another issue.
My wife's lunch arrived almost 10 minutes prior to mine, which is in bad taste on the restaurant's part. I had ordered the Java Lava burger, and when my lunch did arrive, I cut the hamburger in half and it appeared to be raw inside. I touched the center of the hamburger patty with a white napkin, and indeed it revealed red blood. When I spoke with the waitress, she offered to have it re-made. I told her no thank you, and when she offered to bring something else, I politely declined.
A little while later, the waitress returned and said that the manager told here that she could offer us a free appetizer or dessert. I again declined, and was surprised the manager didn't come over personally, instead sending the waitress. It seemed to speak to a greater problem of an inattention to service and quality under the manager's watch.
I have visited this restaurant before, and the food was good, albeit pricey. Having suffered a severe case of food poisoning in the past, being served raw ground beef made me concerned to eat anything there. We will most likely never visit this particular restaurant again.
I do find it necessary to point out how wonderful our waitress was. She worked very hard to do what she could to mitigate the shortcomings of the restaurant. Additionally, she was not the one who brought my wife's lunch before mine, and she immediately addressed the root beer.
I find it unfortunate that waitresses/waiters are usually left holding the bag for any failures that occur. In this case, this was reinforced by the manager's failure to take responsibility for the failings of their restaurant, instead sending the waitress out to bear the brunt of the failure. It's just very unfortunate; this is a very nice place in appearance, but it needs some work in...
Read moreHad the cowboy ribeye here, it was well-seasoned with the fat cap properly rendered and a perfect medium rare. Good char, lovely grill marks. The little pieces of brocoli and carrots were flavorful. The mashed potatoes were pretty good too. Truly some of the best steak I've had outside of a proper steak house. Most of my colleagues spoke well about their food, but one particular standout was fish and chips, which they vehemently recommended to avoid.
I was a part of a larger group and the waitress serviced all of us extremely well. Food took between 15-30 minutes for all of us to arrive. The wait staff were tactful about refills and weren't overly intrusive. Overall, an excellent service from start to finish.
We were sat close to the stage and anticipated at least some live music, but unfortunately there was only music loudly blading through the speakers. It was hard to hear others across the table, but they turned down the volume for us a little. The interior feels a bit dated, but the tables and chairs were clean. For a 'hard rock' cafe I expected... Hard rock... But they played a mix of contemporary and older songs, something for everyone.
Overall, I had an excellent evening, but maybe I'd need to come back during a live event to really appreciate all that this place has to offer. Still, the food was really good and the service was excellent. I'd definitely spend an...
Read moreWe stopped for dinner and service was super slow! After they sat us down it took our waitress about 10mins to get our drinks/food order. The food took what it normally takes to get to our table but what was disappointing was the amount of time it took for our drinks to get to us. I got my meal before my drink showed up. Idk why service was so slow and it felt as if we were just forgotten about for a while. The food was nothing special, either the waitress or the kitchen staff didn’t want to ask for our additional toppings or way we asked for our food and when I did get my drink it was flat and not cold anymore. I’m pretty sure it was sitting at the bar for 20mins or so. We got drinks that qualified for our souvenir glass and we didn’t even get that offered and there was nobody at the shop downstairs so we just left. Not worth it for their prices and they added 15% service fee to...
