We came on a Saturday evening without a reservation. The band was playing outside as we drove by; so we decided to stop. Thankfully they were able to fit us in between reservations. Our server was prompt to take our drink order and to ask for appetizers also. I got the sweet red cherry vanilla German wine served chilled. Very refreshing. The Creole gumbo was awesome! We got the larger size and split between us both. Perfect amount and so much seafood and sausage. Delicious! The fried green tomatoes were a very nice presentation, crispy and a good amount as well. The smokey drumstick chicken was so good. Fall off the bone and a very nice flavor. The house salad on menu stated add chicken for $5. We chose to do so to add protein. When it came, it did have chicken, but it was another chicken drumstick that had been taken off bone. Normally adding chicken means breast meat. We already ordered a whole order of drumsticks; so this was disappointing. So just a heads up for your decision making. The red smoked snapper plate with the white truffle sauce and brussel sprouts was amazing!! So pretty presentation and so much food. The fish was perfectly cooked also. At checkout we did wait a moment for our check as we had a large crowd seated next to us all who ordered cocktails. We would definitely come back and we would make a reservation also. Tod was our server and he was great!! Restrooms were clean and well stocked with paper goods also. Thank you!

I went to H'ours Creole Smokehouse last night (Tuesday night). The atmosphere was great outside with it being a cool night it was great to sit by the fire. I started off by ordering a bloody mary which was nice and spicy with great flavor, it came topped with 3 olives, a lemon and a lime. Others in my party ordered a special drink called Rudolph and another ordered a lemon drop martini. All the drinks were great. We all ordered some of their special of the day .75 chicken drums. They were fall off the bone and so good! I ordered 2 thai chili and 2 hot and I enjoyed both flavors. For my main entree I ordered the tilefish (pictured with a bite out of it already because I forgot to take a picture before eating) which was to die for!! So many anazing flavors together that just made this dish. Others in my party ordered the fried green tomatoes, the butterfish, the drunken scallops and a beet salad with shrimp. Everyone had many compliments to the chef. If I had to add one small downfall, it was that our appetizer wings took a long time to come out but we were enjoying our night and the server brought really good fresh bread so it wasn't too bad. Some people in my party ordered wings togo after dinner and they got them out quickly so the kitchen must have just been busy earlier. Highly recommend trying! Edited: We have been to H'ours many times and we always have amazing food, drinks and service. This is truly a must have restaurant!!

We are locals and spontaneously decided to stop here for lunch. We had no idea what we were in for! Apparently they do brunch 1st Sunday of the month and typically need reservations but they were able to squeeze our party of 2 in right away. The service was amazing and the food was delicious, fresh, from scratch, homemade southern goodnesssss! We ordered spinach artichoke dip with tortilla chips as appetizer and it might have been the best I've ever had. For entrees I ordered fried chicken with sweet bread. It was like a chicken n waffles type meal but southern style as the chicken had a cornmeal breading and everything was topped with a pepper jam. It was sticky, sweet, spicy and perfect! It also came with a side of spicy, smoky home fries and a side of bourbony maple syrup. The other entree we ordered was a slab of BBQ ribs with coleslaw and homemade chips. I'm not a ribs kinda girl but these were so good, I kinda wished I'd ordered those instead lol. Honestly I doubt you'd get a bad meal here ever. The brunch menu was pretty reasonable. Our total was around $60 for 2 drinks, two entrees and an app. We peeked at the dinner menu before we left and it was a bit pricier but if it's anything like brunch, we will be back! Today they also had a blues band playing live outside and it just made the whole place vibe as if we were transported to New Orleans. This place is such a treat! 😁

We've visited H'ours 3 times, 2 of 3 visits had issues. I wrote an email to them but never heard back. I'll come back to this point in a minute. The food has always been very good, the drinks are good and the music is usually good. I feel there is a managent issue at the restaurant: -Visit one- was a "drop in" and we grabbed seats at bar, it was oyster night which made for a great time. -Visit two- Made a res at bar and told "all set". When we showed up we were taken to a table right in front of band. We love music but not dinner in front of band. I pointed out that I made res at bar and manager responds "you can't do that". I pointed out that res taker never mentioned that. Manager went on to say any res at bar have to made with bartender. My obvious response was how would I know that? Once I said "we're out of here" manager found a table near bar and away from music (enough to be able to have a conversation). Dinner was very good. -Visit three- Arrived everything went well until we got our Jambalaya with a quarter chicken (bone in) was laying on top the rice. I complained that the meal was misrepresented and the waiters response "she won't take that off the bill"??? What an odd first response to a meal complaint. They did charge us but provided a free dessert. I write many reviews but hesitate to write negative reviews, so I emailed them directly with my concerns - no response! Hence I feel my concern with H'ours is a management issue: Staff taking res that they shouldnt. The waiters response about "she won't take it off the bill" was presented so quick, he seemed afraid of management, or this happens often. Lack of response to my email reflects just bad customer service. These are all management issues. I gave 3 stars because the food is good! The rest....well there's plenty of local places that make me feel like they want me to enjoy my visit, I'll spend my...

The food was very good. Of all the entrees, everyone liked the Chicken JUMBALAYA the best. But when it comes to fish, the TILE FISH with Mango Chutney was best. The Butterfish dish (Grouper) was a distant 3rd. I look forward to trying the Etoufee next time. Food quality and taste were very good. Creativity and presentation were outstanding. They had a live instrumental band playing music you would hear in the French Quarter. Very nice touch. The place is upscale for the area, no doubt. The service was very good and location is excellent. There are quite a few places you can walk to from there and the area is nice and safe. I do very much recommend it, but can't give it 5 stars. Here are the reasons: The food was very good but not consistently excellent across all entrees. Service was also very good but not outstanding. The biggest knock though and it's a shame, was the drinks. My daughter ordered a lemonade. We get lemonade everywhere. This lemonade was BAD. I don't mean just not up to Chick Fil A, I"m talking smelled rotten, tasted horrible, etc. All of us at the table checked it out and had never experienced anything like that before. I explained it very nicely to the server, he took it back, and he never brought a fresh one or asked if she wanted something different to drink. It was odd. As I was drinking my water, I smelled it in my water too. So it might either have been OLD BAD ICE or just BAD WATER. Either way, its something that shouldn't happen in a nice restaurant and it wasn't handled properly. will it keep me from going back? NOT AT ALL. And I hope to be able to give them 5 stars...

I do not like giving these ratings as I do not like saying negative things about small businesses but going to this restaurant negatively effected my family so that I feel obligated to do so. My family went here for my brother’s 40th Birthday and we had a reservation at 7:30 but was not seated until 8:30. When we were seated, we were told that they might not have enough water cups. Then we did not have a server come to our table for about 20 minutes until one briefly came to state she was trying to find water for us. I do not wish to bash her as she seemed nice yet was overwhelmed and stressed. I am usually more accommodating to restaurants that are not efficient but we were seated outside with a loud band playing outside. That would have been fine if they were any good but the music prevented any conversation from occurring and personally have me a headache.. When my elderly mother asked some employee how long they would be playing or if there was any way it could be turned down or if we could be moved, we were told they could not control what the band did and that they had no more seating. While I never was able to order, I can say the menu was limited to tourist Cajun food and nothing authentic you would expect for the prices. For those prices, Paul Prudhomme better Be cooking it. We walked out and my family members birthday was ruined causing some unneeded drama. There are not a lot of New Orleans inspired cuisine in Tarpon since it has some of the best Greek restaurants in the world, so if you really want that type Of food then maybe your Experience will...
