Was so excited to try out this restaurant with my mom after we seen how many good reviews they had for their little family owned restaurant. But with our personal experience with how everything happened tonight we will not be back.
First off they were a bit busy, but our Waitress (Diane) was trying her best and was just simply amazing.
We started off with the Queens Platter which was delicious. Not a fan of the spinach rolls though. And the jalapeño poppers weren't as spicy as I thought they would be, but I'm sure that's because they used a thin layer of the skin of the jalapeño pepper instead of the actual pepper.
The fries were 100/100. Best fries I have had in awhile. And the house made sauce pairs perfectly with them.
Now down to the reason on why we won't be back. We were told that the Sicilian was a thick crust pizza......it was not. The outer crust was thick don't get me wrong. But the bottom pizza crust itself was not and was actually very thin.
The manager came out (Ana) and immediately was like so is there a problem with my pizza?. We explained to her that it is not a Sicilian pizza and she argues that it was. We are from Buffalo so we know what a Sicilian pizza is and its not what they had made and brought out to the table. Then she tries to change it around and continued with how its more like a DeepDish mixed with Sicilian. Thats not what it says on the menu first off and second we were not about to pay 22$ for a pizza that wasn't made the way they said. She said that she's been to Chicago and that's how they make them.....Hmmm? So maybe change the name on the Menu to a DeepDish instead of a Sicilian because clearly thats not what it is. She then goes so I'm going to waste a pizza if you're not going to pay for it. I'm sorry but if we do pay for it that would be wasting our money for something we won't be eating.
Another waitress came over (Gabby) and said that she understood where we were coming from and if she didn't take it off that she would.
Few moments later the other waitress (Gabby) comes out and said that the owner came in with how busy they were and (Ana) the manager told her about what happened and that they won't be taking it off the bill. My mom wasn't having it and said that she won't be wasting her money on something that isn't what the menu said it was. Plus the fact that they already took the food back and said they would take it off. And told the waitress (Gabby) that she can go and call the police because she wasn't going to pay for it.
Owner refused to come out to speak to us directly but had the waitress (Gabby) be the middle person. Which I do not think it was fair to her. But after all of this the owner finally took the pizza off the bill.
The only reason that I gave this place a 2☆ and not a 1☆ is because of Diane & Gabby. They are the glue to that little place and I have respect...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Well first things first, all of our drinks from soda to lemonade tasted watered down or had a hint of what mildew smells like? We asked for new drinks they assured us “it’s the carbonation” “they’re changing it out now” Fast forward 20 minutes and we received new drinks in different cups (water cups to be exact) Again all the drinks tasted horrible. One family member never even received a drink to begin with. Let me clarify the waitress did a great job. None of what I’m writing about was anything she has control of. Ok now for the food….. The garlic knots where stale almost as if the we’re defrosted then refrozen. The soup was a cross between watered down canned soup and or dirty water with a hint of lemon. We received our mini calzones which were unpalatable. One of our family members about through up after tasting the “feta” in the salad. All in all the French fry’s were the only thing we were able to eat and this was a table of 4 adults and three kids. One of the children sent there cheese pizza back because he said “this taste like salt it terrible” Later on I asked to have all the drinks removed from the check because nobody could drink them anyways. The server came back to apologize (again nothing was her fault) she tells me the manager wouldn’t even taste any of the fountain drinks and that we are wrong the drinks are fine. Do to the circumstances of why we where dining there I decided it would not be a good outcome to talk to someone who is lazy enough to sit there and claim something is fine and the whole table is wrong but isn’t willing to taste any of them himself. The waitress apologized again and I want it to be clear as stated multiple times, the waitress did a great job. I would NEVER eat there again nor would I recommend anyone else go there. I’m not sure why that restaurant is even in business at this point. I mean maybe this was a one off situation at this location? The fact that the manager didn’t address an entire table having issues is unprofessional and I believe they may not be a suitable individual for a position with that much responsibility. The last thing to add is pricing. The menu reflects a completely different price then the price they charged. In conclusion great server , terrible drinks, terrible food and terrible management with no concern to solve a problem. (this is what a manager is...
Read moreOh please..... Ignore the few negative reviews shown here. Some people have no business leaving their house to eat . The Pizza at Queens is Fantastic!! No matter what you order on it, get the thick crust. They are often very very busy in both dine in and take out.. why?... because the food is excellent and lots of people eat there over and over again!
If you know what to expect before you go there then the occasional slow service or wait time should not be an issue and if it is then you should be eating the garbage at a fast food drive-thru, pretty simple. A busy restaurant is a sign of great food as is the case with Queens. Yes, sometimes the service is slow. Fast food is fast, good food takes time. They make everything to order so I don't mind waiting a little longer for it. If you are ordering take out, it's really easy and fast to order and pay rite from their web site which is what we do often. I order 45 minutes before I want to pick up our pizza and guess what... it's ready when I arrive. Yes a couple of times on a Friday or Saturday night it took a little longer.. so what?.. they are busy because again.. the food is excellent!
If you want to try a delicious and unique Pizza , give Queens a try for yourself... it's worth the wait! I also notice that the owner replies to any negative reviews and seems to care about customer feedback so if you had a problem with their service or food, why ever would you not tell the owner and give him a chance to address your concerns before running home, hiding behind a computer, and damaging a businesses reputation online?
Judy N.. your 1 star review whining about a coupon is pathetic!... It was likely expired or there is more behind the story than you are telling. Anyone reading your little cry-fest review easily identifies you as a senseless whiner who confirmed the food was good but didn't get her way over a coupon... I saw a Winn Dixie flyer this Sunday that offered Buy one Get 1 Free DeGiorno frozen pizzas.. which is a little more affordable for someone of...
