Toula's Trailside Cafe — Restaurant in Tarpon Springs

We were staying in New Port Richey this past weekend and tried to patronize some local businesses for breakfast, but we had Toula's in our back pocket just in case because we've been there a couple of times before and knew we'd be in good hands if things in NPR didn't work out. After two attempts where we weren't even given the courtesy of being greeted by hosts at the restaurants we were trying to support, we gave up and hopped in our truck and got on the road to Tarpon Springs. After we arrived, we walked into Toula's and less than 5 seconds after entering the door, a friendly hostess greeted us, pointed at an open table and asked, "Is this one okay?" and had us seated and took our beverage orders just like that, despite it being a very busy Sunday. Just a few moments later, our waitress came by and made sure our coffee was full and warm and offered to take our orders. We watched everyone on the staff that we could see going the extra mile to welcome everyone who walked in the door and we loved it. The food is delightful and delicious, the service is quick, accurate, and so friendly, and we always feel welcome here. We love that when we're here, we feel like we're in a cool mix of people who are visiting from out of town (like us) as well as people who live in the area and those who are stopping for a break while biking on the nearby trail to grab a tasty bite to eat. We visited Toulas based off of reviews, that was a mistake. I can't say why this place has such good reviews but I will be honest with mine. The place itself is basic nothing really " nice" about the interior decor. The staff was not all that friendly & inviting, but the food was the worst. I ordered the eggs Benedict w/corned beef hash, I was extremely disappointed to see that it was CANNED CORNED BEEF HASH,which is mushy & gross, I mean I could have popped a can open at home and saved $12.00. My husband got the "meat lovers skillet" and again, extremely disappointing, because the ham in it was sliced lunch meat ham, and not a good one ! Thin rubbery sliced lunch meat ham in his " meat lovers skillet". Maybe it's just me but when I go out to eat i would like the food to be good food, not cheap, canned stuff that I can get at the grocery store and make myself for 1/4 of the price. And like I said the staff wasn't even very friendly or have great personalities welcoming you in,excited to serve you, so the entire experience was just a huge letdown especially when you're expecting so much more according to the reviews. **seeing the owners unprofessional , rude responses to other customers leaving unfavorable reviews tells you all you need to know in my opinion , no accountability whatsoever. Last time I will go -always liked this place but the server who waited on our table was rude and got ruder when I tried to address the issue that I ordered a vegetarian omelet and she delivered an omelet with sausage in it, which I didn't notice until I put it in my mouth. Instead of taking back the entire plate she tried to get me to keep my side orders and eat those without the omelet until the omelet was done. She didn't like it when I said I want the whole meal together served warm. She never apologized. She didn't care that a vegetarian had put meat in their mouth and swallowed. I then ordered a biscuit and she dared to charge me for the biscuit instead of comping my whole meal for the bad experience! When I said something to her while paying at the register, she started a big argument with me. I even paid 10% goodwill tip on this. Toula if you are wondering the date it was Jan. 14. One of your regular servers-ran up to me after I walked out the door and apologized and asked me to call you on Tuesday after. I hope she told you what happened but seemed to prefer asking me to call you. I didn't call because I just didn't have the time to catch you on the right day.
