Disappointed.
I didn't get a chance to celebrate Cinco de Mayo but I thought this place might be good. Been wanting to go here for awhile just never got around to it.
I know it was a little busy and they might be unhappy to work on a holiday so I gave them 5 bucks tip up front just because.
I don't regret that but I am disappointed with the quality of the food. The meat was super dry. There was hardly any guacamole or sour cream so that didn't help. And they didn't even ask, they just gave me two salsas. For adobada fries, I usually like 3 or 4. I mean, I thought that was pretty standard but they didn't ask and tied up the bag. I saw that there were salsas in the bag so I just figured they would already know and give me enough. They didn't :(
She also didn't mention there is a credit card fee. I was about to pay cash and told her I had enough cash but she kind of urged me to use my card. I mean, tell me about the fee if you are gonna suggest using the card.
This is why I don't like tipping on my first visit to a place. I will usually try a place and if it's good, I'll return and double tip. That's been kind of my rule but I made an exception because they were working on a holiday... just dang, I'm pretty disappointed overall. It was not...
Read moreI thought you couldn't go wrong. It's Alberto's. You go to these chains for the basics, carne asada burrito, fish burrito, quesadilla, rolled tacos...
It is always decent and sometimes really good depending where you are.
I ordered a fish burrito. I'm simple, I only expected fried battered fish with cabbage and the white sauce that's usually in it.
First off, it was double digits. I told myself, it's Temecula. They don't have a lot of choices and maybe that's how much they can get out here. Whatever, it's big portions.
I got the burrito, excited to eat it I unwrapped it. Took a bite. Ok all tortilla, let's try again.
There is what seemed like lettuce (soggy) with a little pico in it, fish and what tasted like thousand island sauce. It even had the same coloring. I tried masking it with hot sauce. The hot sauce was horrible. Bland and super watery. It splattered just opening it.
It would've been better without sauce. It was so bad I couldn't force it down my throat after 5 bites. I didn't want to waste $10 or food but 5 was me trying my hardest. Worse burrito EVER.
Also, I got a churro filled with.. I forget now because when I ate it, it wasn't...
Read moreI just ordered food for almost $50 and let me tell you this is the worst Mexican food I have ever had in my life. The Alberto’s that is by my house is way better.
Usually I love carne asada at Alberto’s but not this location.
Unfortunately, the meat here was dry af gross extra chewy and cold. Taking 5 minutes to chew the meat and I can tell the meat was old. On top of that the paper was stuck on my tortilla. What they trying to do put me in the hospital? The side of beans and rice were very tiny and the beans looked old af the rice stale as shiiiiet the horchata was disgusting and lacked taste.
Dang first place at being the worst experience I have ever had at a Mexican Restaurant. Gross, dirty, and old. I wish I never ate here and just went home and ate cereal.
Good luck with anyone trying this place.
Everyone will have their own opinion and experience which is understandable. However, my experience was horrible and I will never eat at this specific...
