3.6.24 @5pm: I had dinner with a really good friend here. My first time here. We both ordered the 4 Birria Tacos w/ Consome for $20 plus rice and beans for $4. We also had two mixed drinks. The food and drinks were just decent. The service was extremely disappointing. I spilled quite a lot of Birria dip at our table (and on myself), and our waiter did not attempt to help us clean our table until we were almost done and ready to leave. I swear it was weird! 😂
He and another shorter waiter walked by our table repetitively and not one staff member lifted a finger to assist as neighboring diners looked at me working not only to clean myself, but make the table somewhat decent to continue our important meeting. Our waiter did offer "another one (dip)," which I did not want. The food was gross. Finally, he brought a huge bin of napkins and placed it on the table after we sat with the mess for a while and my friend had to ASK for the napkins. After I cleaned the space a bit just so I could sit comfortably, we continued to talk and catchup. Much later, the waiter said "oh let me clean up." Then he wiped very briefly with one dry napkin. The table was still a disgusting mess of now hardened Birria dip (luckily it did not get on my new white shirt). Close call! It did ruin my tan outter shirt.
Our waiter gave us the bill without asking us if we wanted anything else (our plates were still very full). I could only force down one of those miserable dry tacos. After we sat and talked for a while (tacos were huge and filling), the waiter didn't even refill our water. My water was completely empty for so long, and I never got a refill. I'm sure the staff knows who we are (we sat at the booth by the door). At the very LEAST, our waiter should have moved us to another dry clean table because we weren't even half way through our meal when the Birria dip spilled. Not impressed with the dry tasteless birria tacos, bland beans and rice or the dismissive, unhelpful waiter. Too bad for him because I'm usually a BIG tipper. I now realize I did his job for him (cleaning). Sidenote: My friend and I had not seen each other for a very long time. We were too distracted by the "meeting topic" to instruct this business how to tend to us. In hindsight, we could have instructed the waiter, but we were in a very deep conversation. I paid for this business to do the thinking for us, while we relaxed and conversed. Major fail here at...
Read moreI was very excited to try this place. I wish I hadn't! This place is like a high school cafeteria. You stand in line to place your order and you have to read the menu on the wall. The menu handed to us was a beverage menu, not a food menu. They rush you through the line and expect you to know what you want to order, Immediately. Having never been to any of their locations, I would have liked a minute or two to read the menu at a table. Not this place! They hand you plastic takeout containers for salsa, hot carrots, etc.for their salsa bar. So, my hands were full and no tray to carry anything. Once we got to the table, I ran to the salsa bar several times to fill my little containers. Then, the food arrived. No eating utensils. We asked for utensils twice and they never brought them. So, I had to once again get up and retrieve utensils.By the way, your eating utensils are plastic! Really? Dinner for 2 was $60.00 and the best they can do is give you plastic forks, knives and spoons? Now, during this entire time, our beverages from the bar never arrived. I asked 2 servers twice for our beverages. They never came. We were almost done with the meal-still no beverages. I then got up again and went to the cashier who assisted us to get a manager. I spoke with Cesar. I explained the situation. He said he would bring us our drinks. It took a few minutes but they finally arrived. No one should have to eat an entire meal and not have something to drink! The food was mediocre at best. I've had better food at a fast food taco stand. The chips were too salty. If you have high blood pressure, pass on the chips! The salsa was not hot, very bland. I ordered the carne asada plate(remember I had to cut the steak with a plastic knife 😩🤪) Rick ordered cheese enchiladas, beans no rice and a taco. The taco was good but too much liquid and became sougy quickly. The cheese enchiladas were luke warm on the inside and dried out on the edges. We were looking forward to finding a new fun place to go and hang out. This is not the place. And as a final P. S. I told Cesar we were dissatisfied with receiving the drinks after the meal. His response... there's nothing I can do about that! Really Manager? With all of the restaurants in Murrieta, go elsewhere. You'll find better service, better food and...
Read moreAs I walked in, you are immediately greeted by the amazing art of the place. I then saw and B-Lined it to their bar but was told that the tables in the bar area was not open seating, even though there was nobody sitting there. Fine whatever, I placed my name in just get a bar area seating. I was given a drink menu but I really just came try their food and their happy hour. I asked for a food menu but they do not have any paper menus, then they said I would have to go to the front of the restaurant to order food! Like why? Already this starting be not a good experience. I would have to go the front and block people trying order their food but then I noticed that everyone was just staring at the menu and this caused a lot of unnecessary foot traffic just because they didn't have any normal menus. I didn't order food because it was just not a good dinning experience. So we asked about if they have happy hour there and they said they do but only in the dinning area and not in the bar section. That was another turn off. I would think you have Happy hour in the bar than the dinning table. But I was already there and parched, so I ordered two Modelos, one for me and my pops. So for it to be Tuesday, no tacos, and no happy hour at the bar, really bummed us out. So we drank our two beers and got the tab. For just the two Modelos, it came out to 19.50! That's 9.75 a beer! That is an insane price and one I would expect to pay if I was in Vegas, not here. So we left with a very negative experience here. But as we where leaving, we found out their happy hour drink special and it is a buy a 24oz drink and get a 16oz for a $1. I personally don't fell like that's a great happy hour special and would rather go somewhere else. Another thing we noticed while sitting there, we noticed that there was a lot of workers just standing around not doing anything it looked liked.
Overall, there are a lot of better places that have a smoother dinning and bar experience, better menus, and better happy hour specials. I would not waste my time with this...
