This is a great place that just hasn't yet been found by the hoards. We love that we can bring in our food (they do not serve food), and our pup, and we go up to the bar when we want another beer instead of being interrupted by a server. A great place to come in with a group to watch a game, or to play games and just hang out. They have a good selection of beer and ciders. Never ever a feeling of being rushed to leave. I am not a fan of typical bar food, so for us, to be able to order from Perfect Pear (right across the parking lot) and bring it in is great. There are other placed right there for food, too. I just don't know them. High tops, low tops and a couch and chairs area. My only issue at all is that like so many places these days....they lean toward that lack of acoustics to soften the noise. Apparently to make it feel livelier. I prefer the noise to be softened. But, few places do that anymore. Funny thing...most people I know will say "I wish places would remember we are there to talk, not to dance and yell to be heard." It isn't as bad as some...
Read moreGood beer, no real food to speak of besides maybe some popcorn. The beer is quality and they have some staples you can always get like Hop Chowda, which gives Church Music a run for its money. My other favorite is Legendary which is a milk stout but that one isn't always available. They rotate and only make certain beers occasionally. If you catch when they make the Double Hop Chowda, get it. You won't be disappointed. They sell cans of beer in a cooler that are also discounted during happy hour. Beer prices are about $8 dollars a pint, $6 on happy hour. Happy hour is from open till 5pm Monday to Friday. They will let you sample beer or order 5 and 10 ounce beers as well. You can take a crowler to go but it's usually cheaper to get the cans. I think they fill growlers but I'm not sure. They are not usually super busy but today it was packed for...
Read moreWe love Goldwater especially when you can get it so much closer and by far probably my new found favorite location because of the convenience. We loved how spacious the building was especially since we have kids. Mind you there is no where in the laws of Arizona does it say children are not allowed in a brewery. That was the only annoyance that we had that there was a couple sitting in front of us that kept giving us dirty looks because our son likes to roam free. If you w don't enjoy kids in a brewery you should move to Vegas people. So Goldwater gets more brownie points with us when they are okay with our son being completely himself. I think we have only been to one other brewery in Arizona that didn't like him being adventurous(Beer research off of stapley/baseline). I loved the gose they had on tap. Was so refreshing and...
