She said yes, so now I can go online and let people know I was at this store without ruining the surprise for my fiancé. Not very long after meeting her, I knew I was going to ask her to marry me. She and I had stumbled into a few jewelry stores and I had a general idea of what I was looking for.

I used to live and work near Coffin and Trout and decided to go in and check it out on my own. It had been in business for as long as I can remember, which is pretty significant for a small business, and after going in, I could tell why it was still going strong.

I was greeted by Leo, a well-dressed man, and we discussed what I was looking for. He explained what differentiated Coffin and Trout, the unique shape of the rings. Also, the styles were amazing. After having gone to a few stores, I could tell this one was different. None of the rings in the store were exactly what I was looking for, but there were some that were very close. I opened up and learned a lot more about diamonds from Leo than from anybody in the other stores since he presented himself not like an overly friendly or pushy salesperson, but more like a mentor.

I hadn’t done any internet research on C&T, but once I did, I saw the website was really nice and the online reviews would make any business jealous. I was like, “dang!” Anyways, I made an appointment with Leo and we further discussed what I was looking for. We whittled down the impressive online portfolio, but he also made it very clear they could customize whatever else I may want. He gave me a tour of the back of the office and after seeing the people, facility, and equipment, I had no doubts about that.

In the store, there are some traditional diamonds in stock to check out, but I decided I wanted something lab made. Leo was able to get a few samples of diamonds and alternatives rather quickly. The prices were actually a lot better than I was expecting!

When it came down to actually making the purchase, it was pretty simple. I had no problem telling Leo my credit card information over the phone to make the down payment because I completely trusted him.

After the order was made, they had a wax model of the ring, which I broke because I was clumsy, for me to see if I liked it. Then again when the mounting was complete, I got to see it to test it out. It wasn’t until I saw and loved the final product that I had to set up payment for the remainder of my balance. I decided to finance the rest and the process was quick, painless, and interest free if I pay it off in 12 months.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about Leo Marez and Coffin and Trout. Leo was a complete professional during the entire process. He answered all of my email questions promptly, even if he was on vacation or I sent them late at night.

As for the whole C&T team and experience, I can’t say enough positive things. I felt zero pressure. The staff treated me like I had been a regular shopper there for years. One time I made an unscheduled visit and while Leo was with other customers, his manager Dean was super helpful. Whenever I entered and left, the security officers opened the door for me and I kinda felt like a celebrity. Leo and I had set a delivery date when I was going through the buying process and they had it done...

BLOWN AWAY! Coffin & Trout is by far the best Jeweler that I have ever come across – and I have been to a few in my quest!! My finance proposed with just the diamond so I could choose the setting, which I then thought would be an easy choice - but I was wrong! I easily become overwhelmed by the amount of Jewelers in the Valley and not only that but by the amount of different designs out there; it then became apparent that no Jeweler had the design I was looking for (of course)! Which is when I decided that having it custom made was my best option.

My dreams came true when I found Coffin & Trout I did my research and from the reviews I knew they would be good and they definitely met my expectations. I walked in and felt immediately welcomed by Leo and why I say this is because a few Jewelers seemed fairly judging and surly but Coffin & Trout made you feel like family.

Leo welcomed us and was unbelievable, his customer service was exceptional, he wanted to work with us and design the ring I wanted. He listened to everything I had to say, which was close to 1hr and also gave me his opinion. He was very knowledgeable and understanding towards me. He was able to show me the size of diamonds I was looking at having on my setting, which was an important thing to me. He worked with my budget and he was not pushy at all he gave me the option to wait until the wax and pictures were ready and if I still did not like I was not obliged to go ahead. They did not ask for any deposit ahead of time like a lot of other Jewelers. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better understanding young man. Communication was another key point I would like to focus on when he told me he would be in contact that was definitely what he meant! He phoned me nearly everyday with an update or emails with pictures etc. and when the wax was ready.

I was also flying back to England and asked if they could have it ready before hand, which they did and that I’m sure was not as easy task as I had left it 3 weeks until I went back.

The day came when I was able to go down to Coffin & Trout to pick up the ring and I was blown away! It was absolutely stunning. It was everything I wanted. Overall I cant say how happy I am to have found a Jeweler like Coffin & Trout and have Leo as my design consultant. His customer service was outstanding and knowledgeable, alongside his kindness. He gave me a stress free and pleasant experience. I didn’t have to worry about anything everything was in his hands and I trusted him 100%.

Just to top everything off they were so kind and thoughtful to produce me an amazing disk with some amazing pictures of my ring being made (great job Kevin!) and a few videos this really was outstanding I cant begin to say how happy and grateful I am for all that you have done for me.

Wow, where do I begin! Early 2020, I stopped in to C&T one Saturday morning to have a Submariner bracelet sized. Although I’d purchased the Sub from an AD in Utah (where I lived prior to AZ), Don warmly verified the warranty card against the watch, and went to work! He reviewed every detail of the watch with me, and sized the bracelet without me having purchased the watch from C&T; no cost. I left the store that day knowing that at some point, I’d love to continue my relationship with these folks. Fast forward to August of 2020, and the opportunity presented itself. Evidently, I’d found a wonderful woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my days with - knew C&T would be my best option when finding a custom engagement ring. Boy was I right. Leo answered every question I could throw at him, in the most professional, charismatic way possible. He walked me through the process of finding the perfect engagement ring, from start to finish, regardless of my self proclaimed ignorance of the subject. Without question, without Leo’s guidance, I would’ve really struggled navigating this process on my own. Once the ring was confirmed, being ‘me,’ I had it priced independently by a smaller entity, and wound up within a few hundreds difference. Considering the level of care, professionalism, and class I knew I’d gain went entering into a potential transaction with C&T, the writing was on the wall. My now fiancé can’t take her eyes off the ring, and the story of what went into getting it to her finger is one I’ll be telling our grandchildren one day. She’ll appreciate it for a lifetime - every scrupulous detail that C&T designed into the ring. I’m all about the ‘details,’ and my fiancé’s ring has my Rolex beat, thanks to C&T.
