Hot N Juicy Crawfish — Restaurant in Tempe

Love this place! Food is so good and delicious, i always come here! The experience at this place is weird at first if you’ve never been somewhere similar to this, your hands are about to get real messy (I’m joking, unless you don’t use the gloves), you get handed a bucket to chuck the shells of whatever food you got, bibs, and gloves. The wait time isn’t that long even when packed because people leave quick, the whole service is quick even though this is a restaurant, why? It’s because you usually get seated immediately or in less than 30 minutes, your waiter comes out, they do the usual (asking for what drinks, bring drinks and ask for what food) and your food should be at your table in less than 15 minutes (that is if you get any of the steamed(?) seafood items), you dig in get messy and finish your food or not (sometimes it can be a lot so you can take some food home). Now the food actually comes out so fast that every time I order, I get my fries last because the seafood items don’t take long to look. I get the pound of shrimp, with seasoning as garlic butter and spicy level as spicy, great combination if you’re really into spicy food!

Now what you should know about this place is that, you get really messy but it usually due to your seasoning and spicy level on your seafood. The food is piping hot, it’s so hot that you can most likely get a burn from it if you touch once it’s out to you. The seafood items are in a plastic bag. If you were to get anything similar to lobster, crab, etc, if you were to ask for one pound of whatever, the only thing they may have is two pound (double the price) but they do ask beforehand if you still want it so they can cook it and it be fresh (pretty sure the animals are still alive back there and need your confirmation on whether you want it or not). They do give extra bibs/gloves, and that’s about it.

When my husband and I are in Tempe we make it a point of going here because their food is delicious. We've been here several times and I have to say that today the service was TERRIBLE. We showed up about 5 mins after they opened and were told that the kitchen was still closed for another 5-10 mins. Which makes no sense since they're hours of operation state they open at 12 they should be ready for customers at that time. We were seated and there was only one other table seated before us of about 8 people. My seat waswdirty and greasy and when I wiped it down it was covered in sauce from what I'm assuming was the night before. There was only 1 server working the same person that sat us down. She took our drink order 5 mins after sitting us down and didn't take our order until 30 mins later although we had told her that we had already been there before so we knew how the menu works. My food came out within 15 mins which was the lb of shrimp and my husband's po boy didn't come out of the kitchen for another hour. We were almost done with the shrimp by the time his order came out. According to the server there were alot of fried food orders. To make matters worse when the po boy got to the table the soft shell crabs were not even warm/fresh. My order should of never come out if my husband's order was not ready yet that's very unprofessional. We finished eating and had to walk up to the register to pay because we never got our ticket. Paying took an additional 10 mins nobody was at the front of the establishment and then the server tried seating us again. There was someone standing behind us and they were helped first, they were asking about interviews. Once she started ringing us up the server started talking on the headset instead of quickly finishing up the transaction. We were very annoyed with our experience today. Like I said the food is delicious and that is the only reason why I am giving them a 3 star rating. We will not be returning to the Tempe location. Looking at other reviews it seems that the service is the common complaint but nothing is being done about it. I would have to say that the kitchen is also the problem or at least that's what the server made...

THE EXPERIENCE LAST NIGHT IS 1 STAR I have been living in Arizona for 3 years and I have never had such a bad experience like the one the one I had last night... First of all I just want to say I definitely understand yesterday was Mother's Day. I did expect it to be very busy because of the Pandemic and Mother's Day. Once I placed my order online it said my order will be ready in 90mins I ordered my food @ 6pm roughly . Cool thats fine. BUT I never received a confirmation by email/ text NOTHING. So I showed up to to the Tempe location. There is about 50 ppl or more waiting in line. I stood in that like for 45mins before I could even talk to someone. ( YES I TRIED TO CALL THEY DID NOT PICK UP THE PHONE) Once I spoked with the curly hair girl that was sending out text messages to tell people their food is ready. I tried to explain to her that I didn't received a confirmation to confirm my order. First she tried to make me get out of line because I didn't have my text and tried to just help the man behind me. SHE COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. All I wanted to know was how much longer did I have to wait for 2lbs of shrimp and 12 sausages. She said my order was all the way down the line and its going to take a while and walked away. No one came to speak with me again until about 30 mins later. THEY DIDNT GIVE ME A TIME FRAME UNTIL ANOTHER 45MINS AFTER THAT. I ASKED FOR MY REFUND SO I COULD GO ELSEWHERE THEY BASICALLY MADE ME WAIT OUTSIDE FOR 4 F*CKING HOURS FOR 2LBS OF SHRIMP AND 12SAUSAGES!!!!!!!!! THEY DIDNT GIVE YOU AN OPTION TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER ONLINE OR OVER THE PHONE. THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD WAITING ON THE BAR FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR AT A TIME GETTING OLD. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. I ORDERED MY FOOD AT 6PM ROUGHLY AND I DIDN'T EAT UNTIL 11:30.. I LIKE SAID I UNDERSTAND YOU WERE BUSY BUT AT LEAST GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS THE OPTION TO WAIT OR NOT FOR 4...
