This review is for the Daily Jam location in Tempe. I normally don’t write bad reviews but, this morning I had a very upsetting experience that unfortunately will prevent me from returning.
I placed a to-go order and paid upfront at the counter to the left right when I arrived. When my order was ready, there was no name or receipt attached to it. I went to go through it to see if it was mine since nobody was there to help at first then a lady who looked to be a manager came over and asked what I was doing and I said, “ Hi, is this for Alexis “ and she said oh yes, so I said okay thank you and started walking to the front door. I then heard loud fussing in the background not thinking anything of it - then hear the same lady who looked to be the manager, yelling across the restaurant, calling me by name and accusing me of not paying. This was incredibly embarrassing, especially since it happened in front of all the other guests.
It felt like I was being accused of stealing my own food. Instead of publicly accusing me, the employee could have simply checked with the cashier at the other counter to the left, to verify payment. Thankfully, the other girl at the counter to the left at the bar clarified that I had already paid.
This entire situation could have been avoided with better communication and professionalism. I would recommend Daily Jam implement a system for identifying to-go orders and avoid making similar mistakes in the future.
Also, their food was not worth what I paid and the coffee tasted like cigarettes and I don’t smoke. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! -5 Stars … except for the employee at the bar,...
Read moreMe and my lady came here today, 12/17/2022, the lady who took our money at first was pretty nice and friendly, that is the best part of service at this place. We waited 45 minutes, for them to bring out our food, and thats after we asked where it was, people who ordered behind us had their food and were eating for 15 minutes already, just wanted chicken and waffles and chilequilles, thats it, 2 dishes. When we asked where our food was the server had an attitude, and gave us our food, and look, if that food had flavor i wouldnt be writing this, but spending 40 dollars on food and the first thing coming to mind is if i have covid because i couldnt taste it, then you need to add some seasoning man. I dont have covid either, i could taste my red bull, and as soon as we left we went and got mcdonalds because we were hungry lmao. We saw 3 tables, up and leave without getting their food, idk how this business has good star reviews, probably because of the trends on tiktok and them heavily asking for good reviews. There is more seasoning on the inside of my mommas urn and would probably taste better to be honest. Iv had better flavor in MRE snack bread. The chilequilles, tasted worse than gas station nachos that have been sitting in a hot car for a couple hours, and somehow were even soggyer. The red velvet waffle didnt have a taste at all, literally looked as if they used red food coloring. Iv had better service when a fight breaks out at waffle house, my food would have still gotten to me in a faster time, and guaranteed have more flavor than here. Id rather eat 7 year expired saltine crackers,...
Read moreAfter waking up from going to a concert in Phoenix, we decided to walk over to a place in Tempe where we can get breakfast. My wife Did some Google research on some places and she landed on Daily Jam.
Once walking in, you can totally see that this is a place for Arizona State students to chill and get a breakfast. The vibe is young and hip for sure. No server interaction until they serve you food.
You pick a table, scan the QR code and order from your phone.
I went with the red velvet waffle and chicken tenders while my wife went with pancakes. I also ordered a side of bacon, toast & mixed vegetables. My wife decided on the pancakes.
She enjoyed her pancakes but the bacon probably wasn’t as crispy as it could have been. Definitely a very filling plate.
The red velvet waffle and chicken tender was more gimmicky than different. The $1 difference was a fun difference looks wise but just tasted like a normal waffle. The amount of hot honey and syrup they give you is plentiful.
The toast was pretty standard, but the applesauce dip that came with it was creamy and offered a nice balance.
The mixed vegetables were underrated. Done very well and chopped enough to still have a decent texture without sacrificing taste.
Overall for $50 this is a lot of food, but everything was pretty standard and expectations were met for a college food place.
Tables were clean and water was complimentary as it is everywhere in Tempe.
Could have gone 4 or 5 stars, but for the expectation I had I’ll keep it at 5. Honestly,l with the research we did, this is probably the best local breakfast/brunch...
