Haunted. I’ve SEEN a ghost in this building with my own eyes. On the south end with the six empty rectangle windows, in the middle top window. I won’t put the whole story here on Google.. tho I swear on my life, I saw this. Pale clouded white, faceless figure, stood motionless, in that upper window. Could not see through him entirely, wasn’t a solid object by any means. Felt as if daggers were piercing into head before I turned around and saw him there in the window.
Anyone else find it strange the “lights flicker on sometimes” in this building…and the lights have an Erie green hue to them? The building has no power. Funny enough, that’s how I saw the ghost in the first place. The Light inside turned off, I got spooked and started walking away, turned...
Read moreI’m a sucker for old historical buildings and the Hayden Flour Mill is no different. Sitting right in front of A Mountain it’s a staple right off of Mill Ave. The original mill was completed in 1874 local wheat growers sold their products to the mill and the flour was initially delivered on horseback. Unfortunately there was a fire in 1917 and the original mill was gone. It was rebuilt and completed in 1918. Unfortunately now it sits shut down, fenced off and in disarray. Read moreAwesome abandoned building. Sometimes at night the lights come on inside, and you can see all the decaying machinery. A really cool time capsule to a different time in history, before globalization, when each town was responsible for processing their own food for the people.
You can walk around the outside, but not inside. You can see inside through the metal grates.
It won't keep you busy for long, but it's worth a visit if you love urban decay and local history.
