tldr: if you’re hungry and it’s late at night and you have nowhere to go, definitely try this place! super worth it for the price and serving portions. food was very tasty! esp the falafel. yesterday, i woke up with the intention of making ta3meya for breakfast but i found that it splattered everywhere (im normally a good cook so when this happened, i genuinely don’t understand what went wrong). so, upon seeing this sight, i lost my appetite. i end up not eating the whole day unintentionally. then, at the masjid talking with someone i met that very same day, i started to feel hungry. and i mean, really hungry. so hungry i would die to eat anything. but i held off my desire for food to listen to the halaqa that was happening at the masjid. then finally! finally it was over! we all drove to shawarma paradise and sat down and ate food together. the owner threw in free falafel on the house. when the food came out and we started eating, it felt like everything inside me was officially satiated and satisfied. it was so good in fact, i still had some food left over by the end of it all. the prices for the portion sizes are really affordable and great as well. i was genuinely shocked and surprised at finding that out. definitely worth checking out if you’re outside late at night or you’re a student who is studying and don’t have the time to cook nor a lot of money to spend. a whole plate is under $10. if you add a drink, it’ll come out to around ~$10-$12 which is kind of an amazing deal considering the economy we’re living in and...
Read moreThe food is pretty tasty, but I don't like the way they do the pricing and proportions. I ordered the chicken shwarma wrap with the basic veggies and sauces, and it cost almost $10 for one sandwich. They charge for every item on the sandwich, so it's $1.50 for veggies, $1.50 for basic 3 sauces, $0.60 for hot sauce, $0.60 for jalapenos, etc., so every item on the menu automatically increases by $3 when adding the basics (3 sauces, lettuce, tomato, and onions). As you can see in the pics, there is a tiny amount of veggies and sauces, so it seems like a waste. The meat and bread is very good, but it would feel better to at least have free hot sauce packets available. There is a long wait inside, fun Indian or Arab music, and there is an empty container of "free chai until it's gone." The place is packed with ASU students. I suggest bringing your own condiments!
Second visit: got Chicken Platter (Halal) on rice with 3 sauces, lettuce, tomato, onions, plus hot sauce and jalapenos. This cost $11.25 including 10% off for paying with Zelle. It was a large portion and very tasty, but it got instantly cold after I mixed it up, so I suggest NOT mixing it. Unlike the last visit, some of the chicken pieces were a bit dry. Also, they brought me a special cup of free chai and came out to the truck to check on me, which was...
Read moreWow, Shawarma Paradise is an absolute gem! My wife and I dined there recently, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The place is spotless, the background music sets a great vibe, and the staff are incredibly friendly. For just $21, we enjoyed a meal that was both delicious and affordable—a rare find in today’s economy!
We had the Chicken Shawarma on the fluffiest Greek bread, topped with fresh lettuce, and a trio of amazing classic sauces (Garlic, Secret, and Hummus). This was my first time trying shawarma, and I’m hooked! The flavors were out of this world, with each sauce adding its unique touch to the overall deliciousness.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. We also tried the veggie burger. Now, I’m a dedicated non-vegan, but this veggie burger was a revelation. It had a taste reminiscent of stuffed crab and was incredibly tasty. I never thought I’d say this, but I’d happily order it again!
Shawarma Paradise is conveniently located near the university, making it a must-visit for everyone in Tempe. The only minor downside is their operating hours, which are from 7 pm to midnight, 7 days a week—personally, this is a bit late for us. Despite this, I can’t wait to go back. If you’re looking for an amazing food experience, Shawarma Paradise is the...
