I’m going to be 100% honest here. The food is really good and it came out quickly after we ordered. I had the carne asada burrito with beans and cheese and my girlfriend got the chicken quesadilla. Both were very well made and authentic. They also have a free self-service toppings bar that had pico, cucumbers, radishes, onion & cilantro, pickled red onions and multiple salsas to choose from. I really enjoyed being able to get those things myself and determine the amount I would like. There was a worker keeping it stocked up and clean and that was good to see. But now for the bad part, we came in the afternoon just after sunset and it was 96° inside the place. We ate inside but we quickly regretted it. I’m not joking when I say I would’ve preferred to eat outside in the 110 degrees because atleast it wouldn’t have been so humid and there would’ve been some type of air for some relief. We ate quickly so we could leave and get fresh air because it was that bad in there. Another negative thing is how loud they have the music. I mean they’re blasting that stuff so much that you can hardly order without yelling at the guy who is right front of you. It also takes away any ability to have a conversation while enjoying your meal. It was obnoxiously loud. I get it, they love their music, but this was extreme. It felt more like a house party than a restaurant. I think this is easily the loudest music I’ve heard inside a business before. They really need to change that. Music is fine, just keep it at a reasonable volume please. The inside seating is somewhat limited. There is a few tables and a few bar style seats, nothing special. It was very busy when we were there and with the heat, loud music and cramped seating it wasn’t a very pleasant dining experience to say the least. My final point is that the service was just okay. You order at the front and they yell your name when the food is ready, so it’s not very organized. I didn’t even hear them call my name because of the music volume and I had to just go up and check after some time. Overall this is a good place for food. It’s authentic tacos, burritos, quesadillas etc. A great place for a quick meal. The food had no issues at all, so I do recommend this place but I cannot in good faith advise to eat the food inside. I would say order it to go and have a picnic somewhere or eat at home. I hope they read this review and genuinely take the criticism seriously and make some changes. If they turn down the volume and turn up the A/C then I would give this spot a 8.5/10. Right now it’s probably a 6/10. The food really carries this place because everything else about it was...
Read moreBest Service I have ever had honestly. With a strong manager at hand. I was very impressed with Gabrielle. I used to work in the service and hospitality industry. Now I work for mental health and wellness. A lot of my job is to de-escalate high-intensity situations. Gabrielle handled something that normally escalated to me. That is when I carry my overweight 16-year-old lap dog into establishments everywhere I go. It is Arizona he is emotional support and let's be real if I left him in the car here he would be a burnt chicken nugget. So when I walked in with my dog, he smiled, and firmly but kindly said, we can't have the dog here or near the open food bar. So please after you order let me get anything you need from the food bar. Normally people don't say anything cause they understand. Or they tell me I can't be there with my dog so I never go back to the establishment. Gabrielle did the best thing anyone has ever done. He set the boundaries and company policey firmly in a kind way and even offered to help with a solution with great customer service. Not only will I make sure to either bring a friend so they can watch the dog outside or B conceal my dog in some sort of hidden bag. I will also always go there for a taco or 5. On top of all of this the food was amazing like hands down best Taco!!! I ate 5 in one sitting. All the staff there was great too. They even cooked up my dog a treat. Showing me that they loved him just needed to keep the place sanitary. Thanks Gabrielle you rock, we need more people like you. Also Gabrielle is not so...
Read moreFresh Tacos. They can be hard to come by. So when you find a place that has a charcoal wood fire grill that cooks the meats as they are needed for the meals, you are at another level of fresh and taste. That level is called Taco Boys.
Tonight, I visited Taco Boys with my son who had been there before. It was 9pm on a Saturday night and we needed some late dinner. I didn't want anything sluggish in my stomach. He suggested Taco Boys so we went to their Tempe location on Rural Rd. It was a 100 for sure.
I ordered the plato (plate) which I got with two meats- barbacoa and carne asada. They literally take the meat off the grill, chop it up, put it on the plate and hand it to you. Freaking fresh. Freaking awesome. We grabbed three of the salsa flavors, the guacamole salsa, salsa verde and the salsa roja. The plato came with corn tortillas, about 8 or so. It also comes with refried beans. So you build your own hand sized tacos. And it is awesome.
The experience and method of making and giving the order to the customers insures you get fresh and tasty food. Great stuff. The cost is reasonable. My plate made about 8 street sized tacos. And it cost less than $10. Good stuff.
The place was packed when we got there late and it was buzzing. You could tell this little place was happening and people knew about it. Nice vibe. If you are looking for truly fresh and great tasting real tacos this is...
