Here's my honest review. I enjoyed my stay here but there were some draw backs to the experience that I think are worth noting.
Staying at this hotel comes with pros and cons :
Pros: 1)Bed is fairly comfy 2) location is great (but so are a lot of hotels in tempe) 3) Rooftop pool is small but enjoyable 4) Maintenance was prompt when responding to a request to replace the battery in the smoke detector 5) price point is not too bad, in my opinion
Cons:
Hotel room was not completely cleaned. ( I found a huge clump of somebody else's hair in the shower)
When I went to the breakfast, I asked the staff for a cup of water. I was told only members get complimentary water and I would have to buy a bottle. (I didn't realize water - a basic human need- is a membership perk)
P.S. this is NOT the employee's fault. This has to be a company policy thing but I think it is a bad one. Especially in Arizona in the summer.
Not my experience but two other guests (different traveling parties) told me that they were given a room someone else was already staying in
There is really limited clothes storage in the bedroom and towel hangers in the bathroom. There are two closets with hangers though!
A couple of the front desk clerks made fun of me (not too quietly) when I asked a question about the check in process. I brushed it off but it strikes me as unprofessional and unnecessary. I know we all make mistakes but seeing as check in is a huge part of their job, I'm less keen on...
Employees were very kind and were very helpful. Sofia was very welcoming when I checked in and the person at checkout was super kind too (forgot their name). The hotel is nice and clean with a lot of space for sitting in the lobby. We got a room on a high floor with an awesome view of town! The pool was way smaller than expected, which is fine but it is hard to social distance in so we did not go in the pool. Breakfast had great basic options for omnivores and vegetarians. For vegans, there were fruit cup options which were okay and oatmeal cups which were good. I wish they had options for plant based people, they did have potatoes which was awesome! Coffee was delicious.Parking is a garage that is nearby but separate from hotel so it can be a hassle if you have a lot of bags, either park in the loading zone to unload or find a bellhop (only two at hotel). The hotel is near many attractions and restaurants and near the freeway but not so close that you hear traffic. Our room was spacious, bed was big, bathroom was clean. One weird thing about the shower was that the shower temperature got scolding hot even at the coldest temperature which was very odd. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and I would consider...
Read moreThis is a modern hotel with amenities and decor to match. There are various room layouts to choose from, including rooms that are ADA friendly (mobility and hearing impaired). If you're in Tempe to visit ASU, this hotel is very conveniently located next to campus. However, you will have to Uber/Lyft to it because they do not offer an airport shuttle.
The amenity I found most useful is the included hot breakfast. However, I do have to hold 1 star back because the management is unable/unwilling to adjust weekend breakfast hours to accommodate large groups. Our stay was related to a swim meet hosted at the ASU pool. And due to the early warm-up times required of swimmers, there was a surge of hotel guests who needed breakfast early in the morning, which starts at 630 AM on weekdays. However, the hotel was inflexible with starting breakfast at 630 on Saturday and Sunday instead of 700 AM despite experiencing the surge and rush Friday morning.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hopefully in the future, management can be more flexible accommodating large groups for...
