This place is awesome! My new favorite hotel in Phoenix. Where are you to start.....Upon checking in I was impressed with how upbeat, friendly and down to earth the front desk staff is. The lobby and hotel is spotless and around the corner by the elevators is a sizable bar/lounge area. I got in the elevator to head up stairs but floor 7 wasn't working....Thankfully before going to tell someone about it I noticed a sign that clearly states you need to swipe your card to access floors 2-7 (heads up for the ones like me that don't excel in attention to detail). The rooms are incredible....It has a kitchen area when you first walk in (stove, fridge & dishwasher, fully furnished with glasses, silverware, pots, pans AND a can opener) which leads into a sitting area with a sectional couch and big screen TVs. Behind that is a wall separating the bedroom area and bathroom. The coolest part of the hotel....Roof top pool/bar which overlooks the city. The entry way is off floor 8....Even if you don't swim there is plenty of tables and chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. This hotel could easily charge $200/night and I'd still be as impressed. I got the room on a 3rd party site for $65 plus tax!!!!!!! Booking direct through the hotel was $99 which is still an incredible value. This is the nicest hotel you will find for $100!!! Oh and one more nice feature....Noon checkout. The negative I could say is that the hotel doesn't have a parking lot, they use a parking garage that's right best to the hotel (like 10' close). You can either pay $4/hr or pick up a parking pass from the hotel for $15. When you enter the garage you push for a ticket and when leaving you scan the parking pass provided from the hotel. It only scanned successfully 1/4 times of me leaving. No big deal there is a button you push and an employee pops up on a screen that's attached to the exiting booth. Read them your code and they remotely open the gate. I was just really impressed with this hotel and look forward to staying again soon. My advice....You'll pay 65-75$ for an average hotel in Phoenix....Even if you can't find a deal online, spend the extra $25 and stay at the Hyatt. Thanks to the staff of the Hyatt Place for making my stay wonderful. What an incredible job...
Read moreIf you're going to the Phoenix zoo and you need place to stay, this is the place to stay. You literally get out of the parking lot. Take a right and follow the road down to the Papago parkway and you're at the zoo. The hotel is very clean and very modern and I don't know how long it's been in business but it seems brand new. The rooms were immaculate. They were simple and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. They have basically a buffet with about everything you would ever want to eat for breakfast. The major issue the place has is the parking. When you check in or out. You basically have about two cars length worth of area to pull in to check in and check out. You are right behind the college and if there is a game going on in the coliseum next door it is virtually impossible to get in. You share parking with the college so you have to have a key card to get in and out of the parking garage. This produces a little bit of a problem if you turn in both your key cards when you leave. So do not turn in both of your key cards when you check out or you'll get stuck in the garage and you cannot leave. I don't know if this isn't oversight on their part, but it seems weird that you can't leave without a key card. Also, if you are planning on wanting a quiet room then stay on the front side. Because you will hear the light rail all night long and in the morning also. It's not too loud, but if you are a light sleeper or if you're expecting silence, you're not going to get it if you are on the back side with a room facing that direction. Overall, if you want a no frills quick and easy place to stay if you're going to the zoo or attending a football game at the college, this is a wonderful place to stay. Other than the parking and the light rail, I would definitely recommend...

Not sure if this was a Hyatt member perk, but we welcomed it given that it was about 100 F outside.||Great location. 5 minute walk to at least 6 restaurants/cafes. Starbucks just around the corner.||Parking was $16 per night, but I could enter and exit as often as I wanted, which was useful, because we were running errands and going shopping in order to get our son moved into his apartment off campus. I found it extremely convenient that we could use the same room key card to enter and exit the parking structure! Thank you for that bit of convenience. ||Spacious common area for the buffet breakfast. With so many rooms and guests, I never had to worry about finding seating for breakfast.||Breakfast buffet was as expected. Not exceptional, but definitely provided a selection of what most people would want in the morning: coffee, tea, juices, eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit, breads/pastries. If you're used to waking up late, be sure to get downstairs early, as breakfast only runs from 6:30-9am on weekdays.||Would love to see Hyatt step it up and go beyond "as-expected" and provide some organic options. Maybe organic fruit or pasture raised eggs. Perhaps charge extra for these options to people who want them? ||Roof top bar was cool. I didn't actually get drinks up there, but it's a nice view up there at night.||The AC was a bit loud and disruptive if you set it below 72 F. I hope this was just an issue with our room.||Otherwise, our room was clean and comfortable.||I would definitely...
