Have to say I was pretty disappointed by the produce. Not many options when I went by at all, or at least very few veggies in stock, and the stuff that was there was clearly old, like small 8 oz bags of spinach in watery tubs that were pretty slimy. The guys working there were nice and gave me a larger tub of spinach that was still good for $3. When they said they'd been around since 2009 I was kind of shocked. For being around for 8+ years, I guess I expected them to have better connections to keep them stocked on fresh stuff. Some things they had were reasonably priced like the zuchinni and carrots, but others were insane (I recall smallish avacodos for over $2 each). The rest of the store had a decent selection, but a lot of their packaged food you could probably just get at Safeway or Fry's for cheaper. Honestly what would keep me going would be the hopes of better produce in the future, the nice employees, and that I like buying local/organic/vegan when I'm able to. It was my first time going there, and maybe I just caught it on a bad day right before they restocked, but if I had the choice between this store and an actual farmer's market, I'd probably stick with the real deal. Nothing really outstand besides some...
Read moreGreat alternative grocery store. It's a small store so there's not a huge selection, but the vegan selection is good, including take out style meals - both fresh and frozen. They have excellent coffee! Plenty of frozen, high quality meats. A good dairy section, including a great assortment of nice cheeses (and cheese curds, which I love!) They have fresh eggs, alternative milks, fruits and vegetables, even ingredients for regular and gluten free baking. Ice cream too! It's a quick stop to run in and grab those few things that you need without having to canvass a large store with long lines. They are friendly and it's a pleasant place to shop. If you're looking to treat yourself, or someone else, there are plenty of sweets to choose from - cookies, pastries, chocolate .. I've even bought garden seeds here that were sourced locally! If you haven't been here, I recommend that you check it out sometime. They have some tables outside if you'd like to enjoy a cup of coffee made fresh by the barista. It's a neighborhood...
Read moreMy experience with this place has been like the movie The Money Pit. For the first few months in my new home after a prolonged and anticipated closing, my family was soaring and happy. The sleep disturbance that is known as the Farmers Market has caused an entire change in our personalities. Not being able to get sleep or use our home PC for business meetings or school Zoom lectures anymore has been rough. Sending my visiting mother to a distant hotel was heartbreaking. But the worst part is those personality changes when you go from a happy, solid 8 hours of sleep a day to 2-4 hours maximum and still are expected to live all day as functioning humans. That can destroy a happy home. We have decided to leave Tempe. This is not what it was at first. If we stay we will surely lose our family. Thanks a lot guys. Really. We will pray every day for your business to be as successful as our home ownership...
