I hate to do negative reviews, but this one needs to be done for the sake of other potential customers.
The food we did get was on par for the restaurant, but maybe a tad bit overpriced for the quality. Quantity was reasonable.
The The biggest issue was the service. The guy working the front did not have any urgency in what he was doing and several others in the facility noticed this as well. I heard patrons saying, "I'm about to throw on a hairnet and go back there to cook my own food."
We arrived and ordered at 1:30. 1 sushi roll, hibachi chicken, a bowl of Ramen, one boba drink, crab Rangoon, and spring rolls. Fried food arrived at 2:00 and was not hot. Ramen and hibachi showed up around 2:20. My sons boba drink showed up about 2:40. Over an hour after we ordered it. We were done eating at this point. Around 3:00, we gave up waiting for the sushi roll and walked out. Of course, it was all paid for up front and he never showed any signs of intent to make the sushi roll. When we finally decided to leave, there was a line of people waiting to order and a lobby full of people waiting for their orders to come out. A lot of people were upset and talking about it.
On top of all of this, the health inspectors were there and were pointing out a lot of issues with food storage behind the counter. Instead of letting the inspector complete their inspection, the guy was trying to defend and justify everything they were noting instead of supporting the customers or the kitchen.
In summary, we were here for over an hour and a half, and still left without getting some of the food we had ordered. I do not recommend...
Read moreWe got the rib ramen, the orange chicken bento, 2 egg roles and a Boba tea. The egg roles were good. For the amount of food I felt it was a bit on the pricer side, but not to bad. (It was 60 with a tip)The food was mostly tasteless. The ramen had almost no flavor and was also barely warm enough to not send back. Additionally, the majority of the noddles were in a hard uncooked clumps in the bottom of the bowl. The orange chicken was also very mild with little flavor. Slightly sweet, but still almost no flavor. They forgot about the Boba tea and we got it after reminding them (not really a big deal), but the tea itself was litteraly almost a hot beverage (almost as warm as the soup) because it had hardly any ice and the tea used to make it was hot. In addition to the warm drink the Boba was also hard, which I'm assuming means it was old. We ended up just getting up and leaving and went to Panda Express. Left the food and the Boba tea and just accepted the loss. Would...
Read moreI’ve always had a love for Japanese culture and the amazing food that comes with it. This review is mainly for the young lady working when we visited—she was incredibly kind and helpful. I had never tried boba tea before, and she took the time to help me choose one. She made me a Tiger Milk Tea, which was really good.
Not only that, but she also made the food herself. Me and my fiancé ordered the “Samurai Platter.” You could tell she put a lot of effort and care into preparing it. Everything was fresh and well-presented.
The atmosphere was also creative and unique—samurai hats on the walls, and napkins folded into flower petals that were actually usable and kept freshly stocked.
So far, I’ve tried the lo mein bento, the Samurai Platter, and a few bobas. This is now my new favorite place to eat in Terre Haute, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more. Big shoutout to the young lady who made our visit so enjoyable—you really made a...
