This may appear to be just another average diner type restaurant but my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. We aren’t from around here but were passing through looking for a place to get dinner. It’s Labor Day so we weren’t sure what would be open and what the quality of the food or staff would be like. This is a locally owned place with the friendliest staff and very fresh, good quality food! We kept it simple with a chicken melt and fries but asked for special customizations and fries on the side. No problem on the special requests! And fries were honestly the best I’ve had - not salty, crisp, crinkle cut. I’m not even a big fry person but stole some from my husband’s plate to taste and then just kept picking!
Our waitress Josie was the best! When I told her we’d never been there and didn’t know what to pick from their vast menu…she went through every page to tell us what she liked, what was popular with other patrons, and what sides came with what.she spent 5 minutes explaining it all - Amazing! After we got our food, the Manager came by to ask how everything was and if we needed anything. Very nice. I hope everyone that is in the area frequents this great, well-run and friendly establishment! It’s a great day at the New Day Cafe! Ps: I almost NEVER write reviews but felt compelled to for...
Read moreThis is a good place to go if you want some food and you're hungry but you don't want to spend a lot of money. My family and I have went here several times to get food on a Saturday and we found the service to always be very quick, the waitress has to be friendly, and the price to be low. Usually you are able to go in and be seated very quickly and this is definitely a plus for us. The downside is that there's nothing special about the food. We ate there today and some of the dishes we had were just okay, there was nothing that really stood out in my mind is tasty. It's not a place that you would want to go for a special location or to have a memorable dining experience. It's just a good place to go if you're hungry, want to eat quickly, and don't want to pay a lot of money. Another potential negative I see is how low the toilet is in the bathroom. It is a very small toilet. I don't think this would be a make-it-or-break-it for anybody, it's just something that I noted. It is a very handy location in Terre Haute, right on the main drag and you can get it in and out very fast if that's what you're going for. Overall, it's a good place to go if you want something to eat quick and for cheap, but if you truly want a great dining experience that is memorable I would probably...
Read moreMy sister-in-law and her husband live in Terre Haute and frequent NEW DAY CAFE almost weekly. We live about 100 miles away from them. They wanted us to experience not just the OUTSTANDING FOOD but SERVICE as well! So, we had lunch there and had ONE OF THE BEST LUNCHEON EXPERIENCES in a long time! =) NEW DAY CAFE employs VERY DILIGENT folks who, from the moment you enter, treat you like family! The owners are always present and ALWAYS INVOLVED with the customers! There is a WIDE VARIETY of choices on the menu with VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVERS who CHECK-IN with you should you need anything at any time! The food portions are TREMENDOUS; the prices are EXTREMELY REASONABLE, and the atmosphere is VERY COMFORTABLE! We had VERY LITTLE WAIT TIME getting our order for the FOUR of us! Now, every time we visit family in Terre Haute, NEW DAY CAFE is our FIRST CHOICE for getting something to eat! THANK YOU to the OWNERS for YOUR HARD WORK ETHIC and INTEGRITY! You model what you expect from your employees, and IT SHOWS!!! You could TEACH A CLASS on how to treat people!!! Keep up the GREAT JOB for the rest of us - you ALL ARE...
