What a gem!

Parked right next to The Verve on East Wabash, Scout’s brings the heat. Whether it’s delicious cheesy bread or goat cheese appetizers, salads or their signature stone-fired pizzas, you won’t be disappointed

Our party of five was greeted immediately by Jaiden, who promptly took our drink orders and answered a few questions about the menu. (And yes, they have a gluten-free crust option!)

The aforementioned goat cheese/marinara dip (holy delicious!) quickly arrived with some pita-style pizza crust chips and the cheese bread was a hit.

Scout’s is upfront about their preparation and cooking process, letting you know online and on their in-person menu that their made-from-scratch pizzas are cooked in a stone-fired oven and might take up to 30 minutes to arrive. We were pleasantly surprised when ours (four total pies) arrived in just under 20 minutes, but it didn’t take us long to realize that the pizza was so good we would have waited twice that long, and maybe even longer!

Ingredients ranging from hot honey to arugula to goat cheese to pepperoni were noticeably fresh and plentiful across each of our respective pizzas, and the pies themselves were cut cleanly and evenly. Simplistic but very, very satisfying.

All in all, five stars!

(Side note: I’m a veteran of more than a few kitchens and bars, and I haven’t seen efficiency like I saw at Scout’s in a long time. Jaiden handled the front of the house like a pro, topping off waters and teas and running appetizers, salads and pizzas to every corner of the restaurant, while Scout was all over the food prep and plating in the back (and being amazingly consistent with fantastic presentation, I might add.) I’ve seen kitchens staffed with ten times the people that don’t operate that smoothly. Kudos to the...

Walked in with a small group about 3:30 on Friday, no one else in the restaurant. About 15 — 20 minutes after ordering we were told they ran out of marinara...on Friday afternoon before the dinner rush on the busiest night of the week (???). Fifteen minutes later we were told they were out of tomato. A little over an hour later our last pizza was ready. We actually had them box the last two pizzas to go because everyone else was finished eating. One of the pizza’s had a long blond hair baked into it. I wanted to like the place but my food was mediocre at best, possibly because the sauce wasn’t prepared ahead of time, but a couple others were happy with theirs. The server was friendly and apologetic...my impression was it was very disorganized and might have potential with better management. BTW I don’t make a habit of writing...

Edit: increased to a 2 star, flavor of their pizza is truly there, it's just dumb that someone wouldn't even question that ricotta is the only cheese on the one pizza, after the person clarified for my pizza that I still wanted the regular mozzarella in addition to the added goat cheese for my Maxed Out.

Original review: Wife picked up our pizzas and hers did not have cheese on it except for ricotta, which have never had anyone ever at any pizza place think that this is the single form of cheese that goes on a pizza. Most places will have a mozzarella base or a blend. Not here. So now my pregnant wife will not be eating her $17 pizza. Great service. Your cheese pizza starts at $11, which your website states. How about actually adding cheese to the pizza like you're...

I know, I'm really late to the party! Went here for lunch for the first time today. Let's start out with the service... Amazing!! Our waitress, Carah, was an absolute 😇 She was patient, kind and attentive. She offered insight to the menu and ingredients and shared some of her own preferences. Absolutely personable and a definite asset to have. Now...the food! Fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients. Well curated and assembled beautifully, not at all stingy with toppings, marina was fantastic and the wood-fired crust...super quality pizza for a local place. Will definitely be back! We did 2 meatless pies this time. Would be great for a vegetarian or vegal...they have vegan cheese.

Such a great local business!! Super fast and friendly service and the food was amazing! We had a build your own pizza with sausage, bacon, marinara, and shredded mozzarella, and an order of breadsticks. The brick oven makes such a huge difference, and the fresh high-quality ingredients are unbeatable. For $24 we ate our fill and had leftovers to take home. I wish they had a wider menu selection, but I also understand quality over quantity.
