I can't say enough good things about our favorite breakfast spot! This charming little cafe has become a cherished tradition for my grandma, grandpa, and me. From the moment we walk in, we're greeted with warm smiles and the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee that sets the perfect tone for our meal. The menu is a delightful mix of classic breakfast favorites and unique creations. My grandma loves the fluffy pancakes topped with fresh berries, while my grandpa swears by the hearty breakfast burrito that keeps him energized for the day. And I can’t resist that their perfectly cooked eggs are divine. Not only is the food fantastic, but the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The decor is filled with nostalgic touches that remind me of family gatherings, and the friendly staff always go the extra mile to make us feel at home. Whether it’s a busy weekend or a quiet weekday morning, the service is consistently attentive and prompt. This breakfast place has truly become a special part of our family’s routine. Sharing these delicious meals and catching up over coffee brings us closer together, and I’m so grateful for the memories we’ve created here. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a hearty breakfast with loved ones, I can’t recommend this spot...
Read moreI ordered a grilled tenderloin sandwich and homemade onion rings. The sandwich was $9.09 and included the piece of meat and bun, the onion rings were $2 extra. They charged extra for lettuce tomato onion and mayonnaise; this made the sandwich and onion rings cost $12. The bun and (very thin) tenderloin were both dry (glad I paid for the mayo). I asked why they charge for standard toppings on a sandwich, the checkout lady said she has no idea. I explained it cost him a customer as I will not be back. In addition, I ordered swiss cheese on the tenderloin, however, they did not bring it on the sandwich. I mentioned this to the waitress so that she would not charge me the extra $. She made a very big deal about how kind she would be to take it off of my bill. Last I knew, that is not an act of kindness to not charge me for something I did not receive. I used to go here a lot, pre-covid, apparently the prices went up and the quality went down since then. There are many places to eat in Terre Haute, one would think prices would remain reasonable and service would improve. On a side note, none of the employees were wearing a mask. For those wondering, I still tipped standard rates because I do not believe in punishing a server because of...
Read moreSorry, but I have to be honest. The water with lemon was awful right down disgusting, even after switching to a to-go cup with no lemon. The server tried to help, but it didn't make much difference. She was attentive, asking several times if everything was okay. (I said it was I didn’t want to be rude)
Now, onto the food. the French toast was good, with a strong eggy flavor. The hash browns tasted like the oil they were cooked in, not necessarily bad. The eggs had an uncertain flavor I didn't like, but I ate them nonetheless. Additionally, the sausage gravy lacked sausage pieces. The biscuits and gravy were decent.
Despite the water situation, I managed to eat everything. Oh, and about the extra gravy charge, $2.09 seemed steep. Sorry, but I won’t be going back there anytime soon. Didn't mention the food taste to the server, didn't want to be rude....
