Drive thru was slow but no biggie. They had only a couple folks working. Bought a $32 lunch plus I tipped 15%. Got back to office, tried to eat but the fish and shrimp were both undercooked significantly. Fries were dark brown and saturated with cooking oil. The purple hull peas were fine and I did eat 2-3 spoonfuls. But for $32 bucks I just couldn’t shrug it off. I’m 51y/o and this is only the 2nd time in my life I went back to a restaurant to voice my concerns. The owner and fry cook argued with me that it was fine. Even cooked another piece of fish, insisted I try it, when I acknowledged that it was cooked properly they said, it was the same as what I had. So you would have to believe that I spent 30 minutes waiting on food I didn’t want, took it back to my office, looked at it and then decided to drive all the way back to the restaurant to try and get my money back so I would be exactly where I started before I ordered. Just silly. I explained my position, only asked for the $32 back, told him to keep the tip. Anyway, they refused to refund my money, offered me a store credit. At this point I didn’t really plan on trying this establishment again. And I didn’t want a credit for more of the same ill prepared food. I told dude to give that credit to the next people in line. Doubtful that...

Read moreSo, I actually wasn't going to leave this review, but because the owner is behaving so unprofessionally, I've changed my mind. This is a restaurant that I've patronized many times in the past year. Yesterday I ordered the gumbo (as I have many times in the past). I started to eat it about an hour later and discovered that it had a slightly foul smell to it. It was also extremely salty. Instead of not saying anything about it, I decided to let this owner know politely in a text message (I texted because they tend not to answer the phone). I told him what the issues were with the food, and that I wanted him to be aware of this in the case that he wasn't. Because I've frequented his establishment many times and spent so much money there, I assumed that I'd at the very least get an apology for the food not being up to par. Nope. No response whatsoever. I can also tell when a text has been read, and something strange happened with the notifications leading me to believe he actually blocked my number. This is incredibly disrespectful, inconsiderate, and utterly unprofessional. I will not recommend this place to anyone ever again, and I'll certainly...
