Since I was a kid I’ve always loved the classic flavor of the original Antone Poboy sandwich and I love that the owner kept this sandwich after taking over this location. After leaving the Houston area to serve in the military, every place I go to get a sandwich I often wish it was an original Antone Poboy I was eating and it makes me sad. So every time I come to town I always make sure to come to this location with my father to satisfy that nostalgic taste of a memorable sandwich for myself. The owner and his wife are the nicest people and I love the ambience he’s created with his establishment. Most importantly, the original Antone Poboy sandwich he made us fresh to order hits the spot bringing on tears of joy with the rush of fond memories and perfectly paired with a crunchy bag of kettle cooked chips, and a refreshing sparkling mineral water. This deli is one of the reasons why I need to move back to the Houston area, especially since I’m retired from the military and i don’t have to abide by BCA regulations and eat all the sandwiches I want. I’m sure the rest of the proprietor’s menu is amazing, which I hope to get around to trying in the near future and I definitely have to try his coffee. Simply put, a gem of a deli. Go...
Read moreThis was my first time to visit this restaurant. When you walk in you get a huge smell from the hukkah bar. With this place being established in 1984 I was expecting a fresh smell of baked bread and or meats. I told the guy at the counter it was my first visit and usually that’s a que to start giving me recommendations on the best items. No smile, no recommendations, so I just picked what I read first. A muffuletta is what I ordered, he cut the sesame bun in half, threw sliced meat in the microwave to melt cheese over the meat, put olive salad on the bottom of the bun and toasted the entire sandwich. Nothing special to be honest. I thought about getting potato salad or pasta salad but for $2.50 for a 3oz cup of it seemed a bit much. The place was clean, very empty, as no one wants to smell hukkah smoke or cigar smoke from the place next door while you are eating. I bought a full muffuletta, chips, and canned sunkist and total was $19 and some change. I had high hopes but don’t think I would return. The menu items sound really good too, just don’t think I would spend $20 again to...

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this coffee shop and delicatessen. Their cortado, made from organic, mold-free coffee beans, was on a completely different level — smooth, balanced, and deeply flavorful. You can truly taste the difference in quality. It’s hand-pressed, made with alkaline water and organic milk, and the attention to detail shows in every sip.
I also tried their secret-menu chicken soup, made from fresh, free-range chicken, and it honestly reminded me of home — comforting, rich, and full of care. You can tell everything here is made with pride, not shortcuts.
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome — not rushed like at big chains. Prices are comparable to Starbucks, but the quality, warmth, and authenticity are on another level entirely.
If you value real ingredients, craftsmanship, and good energy, this place deserves to be on your regular rotation. I’ll definitely be coming back — it’s the kind of spot that makes you slow down and...
