If I could give zero stars, even negative stars I would. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE, There are other more authentic and delicious Mexican restaurants within the area and around Houston. Don't waste your time going to this one in particular because the staff is nothing, but absolutely rude. We ordered a few appetizers, and it was very clear that not only were they frozen and reheated. (Because they were still cold and they threw them in the to-go box.) But they were also missing things and completely thrown into the box. I have never been to this restaurant before, I have been to other ones that were so polite but this one is horrendous. It's better getting hot pockets from the gas station then eating here, cause it's microwaved anyway. The drinks didn't taste right, they didn't properly reheat the items so they were soggy and mushy AND it was all thrown into the box. I went back in to see if we could change it for anything else because we simply were not happy with what we had received but the woman scorned me, and harassed me and said that they can't do that the manager isn't here and that the food is fine. And if I wanted anything else it would be charged. She belittled me, she talked about me with her kitchen staff, and was being loud about the entire thing. I'm never rude to anyone especially in the service industry because I work in it and I know how rude people can be, but how she handled the situation was unnecessary and left me feeling horrible. I've previously had great experiences at Brenda's, but this has me sworn off any and all of them.

Read moreThe food was fantastic and modest in price, and my boyfriend and I were in and out rather quickly, despite it being a Friday night at dinner time. The employees are so rude though! Our waiter was a young buck...my boyfriend asked a lot of questions about the menu, and he was attempting to speak Spanish, although he does not come anywhere close to speaking fluently, not to mention, he is half Korean, but the waiter was not having it. You could tell he was getting extremely flustered. Around the time that my boyfriend asked him what his favorite dish was/what he would recommend, he literally stopped my boyfriend in the middle of talking, and went to go get the manager. It's not like he went to go do something important, the restaurant was not busy at all, as there were more waitstaff than customers. (you could tell because they were all sitting in the back of the restaurant talking, and doing absolutely nothing. ) Our waiter went back to sit with them and immediately start eating chips and salsa!! And made no effort to disguise it! Not that he could get away with it, even if he tried, because it was directly across from us!! If that wasn't enough, the entire time, the whole gaggle of waitstaff was staring at us eating our food. My boyfriend and I said at around the same time that we felt they were placing bets on if we were going to dine or dash....so messed up. I don't know what makes us look like we would do such a thing, as we always tip our servers generously, as you always should, provided the service was acceptable, unlike ours was. The food was amazing, where I will definitely return again, because my pregnant self craves tacos more times than I would like to admit in a week, and this place helps us be price conscious, but I will NEVER dine in again. Take out...
Read moreIf you’re not Hispanic or should I say if you’re not a light skin or tan Hispanic (Sorry fellow Afro-latinos) do NOT come here. Four different times I’ve come here, always to go, and each time I’ve been flat out ignored while I literally stand at the front to place an order. I’m talking about as much as 15min goes by with multiple waitresses just walking right passed, looking right at me, and not even acknowledging my presence????? Last night was the final straw.
Came in around 11. A Hispanic family was at the front clearly already placed their order and waiting and another Afro-American lady was already placing an order to go so I just waited in line behind her. I kid you not, as soon as she finished taking her order the RUDE Red headed waitress literally walked off and NEVER came back to the front to take my order she literally acted like she never saw me standing there right behind the woman whose order she JUST took. I waited 5min and she comes back out from the back again looks RIGHT at me still waiting at the front and proceeds to go to a table(family full of Non-black Latinos of course) and take their order. I waited another 7min (crazy I know, but I just could not believe it)and still she never returned to the front. The other Black lady that had ordered before me literally had to stop another waitress (who happily brought the Hispanic family that had also been waiting for a to go order their food) and ask for at least the drinks she’d ordered . Of course she received the rude response of “she knows”. That was it for me. We both expressed how we noticed similar behaviors of not being serviced more than likely due to our skin tone and I decided there was not a place I should continue to...
