Food is good all the time pretty much, but the reason I give 2 stars only is cause the past few times I've been to Denny's I have had to wait for more than 10 minutes. My family came in from out of town I was going to treat them to Denny's (as I have done in the past). We were in Pasadena and stopped at a Denny's on the way back to Huffman when we arrived there was only one host and he was trying to figure out a dispute with a parties check, which is fine but no one came to check on us or seat us not even the manager on duty. He was just standing there trying to avoid eye contact with us while a server on the other end was just standing there looking like 'that ain't my job I'm not going to seat them' we stood there for 20 minutes not being helped.
So we left and headed to the Denny's inHuffman, thinking the service would be better. I couldn't have been more wrong. We arrived the host(ess) greeted us asked how many I said 11and a baby seat, the host(ess) look at me with a queer eye and was like "ok it's going to take us a minute to get a table ready" and walked off. When I walked on I noticed two maybe four employees looking at what appeared to be their checks, like they couldn't read, or understand what they were looking at. A few minutes later two of them left.
Mind you at the hour we went there was no one else in either restaurant maybe two or three tables were occupied.
We had been waiting for about 10 minutes when an uber eats driver walks in, asks for what she's picking up and is waiting for like five minutes, she asks again for the food but still no dice.
Around that time the rest of my party walks in. Me and my wife and kids were already waiting for 15 minutes. We waited another 10 - 15 minutes before, the guy mopping the floor asked us how many, I told him he said it will be a minute (keep in mind there are hardly any patrons there). The hostess comes out the guy mopping tells her how many to which she replies "Damn, what the hell". I spoke up and said I don't mind going to set up the tables myself just point the way. When I got up to go set up the tables, that's when someone finally goes over and arranges the tables (the guy that was mopping the floors), but the waiting didn't stop there, we're already waiting for almost 45 min at this point finally the hostess comes out apologizes for the wait, and we waited for another 15 minutes it was horrible, that's the last time I...
   Read moreThis particular location USED to be AWESOME! After last nightâs visit, I am assuming they are under new management? I say that because the old manager used to greet my children and I, very welcoming, and seat us in our favorite booth. Last night, an unknown guy, with that âmanagement airâ welcomed us ands seated us. However, once seated, my 11 year old daughter had to go ask the front counter where our drinks were - it had been over 20 minutes to deliver an orange juice and a water, no ice. Said manager, came over personally and apologized, but it was just words I found. We were served our orders, but our to go orders - they werenât right. Quite aggravating, as anyone one can attest to, with a to go order. I paid for it. I expect it to be RIGHT, itâs not hard. At all. But it wasnât correct. So the new manager - heâs good, very good, AT DELIVERING FLUFF. Check your orders. A pain in the rear, I know, and under former management NOT necessary. But this manager, heâs all talk and NO action, NO accountability. Very sad for us local folks who depend and love the food Dennyâs serves for us to take home to our loved ones. My advice - if you have a to go order, just check it before you leave the restaurant - it shouldnât be necessary but under current management, unfortunately, it now is, and beats having to run back up to the restaurant and get the right order - really shoots down the entire, âto goâ concept, which is to make the customerâs life EASIER. Pain in the rear and used to not be necessary, former manager, well, while I donât know her name, she was AWESOME!!!! We are going to give them another try tonight - I will post my findings late tonight on that trip...I am only giving them another try to see how it goes - another negative review, or was last night a simple mistake. Last night they were NOT busy, really no excuse for us waiting over 20 minutes, and obviously we would have waited even longer had my daughter not brought it to their attention.    Read moreMy daughters like Dennyâs for breakfast. I donât mind it. Coffee is good. However our last visit was not that great. Food was good but our server lied to us when she brought us our ultimate omelettes that we ordered to be made with egg whites. She brought them to us and they were obviously very yellow so as she placed them down in front of us I asked her if it was made with egg whites and she nodded yes so I made the comment that it was yellow and she said yes it should be white if itâs egg whites. So my bf and I looked at each other confused and asked her again in Spanish , I donât think she expected us to know Spanish but she started being honest with us when we changed our language. She went and asked the cook about it and he told her there were no egg whites at the moment. I wish they would just communicate with each other and be honest with their customers. What if I was allergic to the yolk or whatever they put in it , I know they probably put batter in the regular omelette which is why I donât order it like that. Anyway, after that someone told us there was a roach next to our booth so my bf had to kill it. I also notice the walls on these booths are so dirty as well as the dividers they have separating each booth. Their restrooms need some serious attention as well. the food is good but everything else needs some work. There are some really nice staff working here but the server we had did not fool us and I wish the cook would have communicated with the servers better instead of making us what we didnât order.
