Hippo Burgers — Restaurant in Texas

First time trying hippo burger and it was good. I was blown away by their fries though, they had so much flavor and were not bland. The burger was ok, I had heard so much about how big the burgers were and how flavorful they were but didn’t get that from the burger. I got that from the fries, I wanted to drive back up there and ask for their biggest order lol. If I could replace the burger with a #2 from whataburger that would be heaven. I ordered the mushroom burger and I would have thought it would come with cheese for $8 and change for just the burger. The burger came with lettuce, sautéed mushrooms, onions and mayo. The fries and drink are sold separate, which is pretty cool because they have chili cheese fries and you can choose that instead of regular fries. The chili cheese fries were a 10/10. The restaurant itself is clean and the customer service, I give a 10/10. I was greeted and Steve took my order and was very patient and professional as we looked over the menu. The guy who bought our order to our table, sorry I didn’t get your name, was very nice as well. They definitely have customer service down to a T :) I would recommend this place just for the customer service alone. It is so hard to find people who enjoy their job and smile. I am AUTHENTICALLY AGITATED by this BLT Burger and Cajun Fries from Hippo Burgers! First of all, I went in and placed my order for takeout. The menu was clear and Israel took my order right away. From the time I walked in, to when Israel hand-delivered my order, it was a total of 6 minutes. Yes- cooked to order. Really??

When I got home (and got sidetracked) 40 minutes later, I discovered that my order was completely ACCURATE, PACKAGED WELL, and NOT GREASY! But then I bit into the burger and went into a 45-second shock 😮, because it was a HOMEMADE PATTY, FRESH BUN, and THEE BEST SEASONED BURGER I have ever had!!!

I can easily exaggerate, but not on this. OMG- Whoever has been eating at Hippo Burgers on Hwy 6, and isn't raving about it, I'm concerned about your character. 😂 Other burgers will never taste the same to me. This has kicked up my standard to a whole. new. level.

Oh, and the Cajun Fries were on point! Perfectly seasoned and I even ate them cold. So good!

Why am I authentically agitated? Because Hippo Burgers confirmed that it shouldn't be so damn hard to get simple, but mind-blowing food, quick service, and for less than $15 in Houston. I can't keep settling for these other places. 😩

Trinity and Kayla were GREAT, their customer service was perfect and they offered honest suggestions. The cooks messed up my order and did not give what was paid for. Upon opening my food at home I immediately called the restaurant to let them know of the discrepancy, I was told that the manager (Samantha) had left but would be back shortly so they took down my number and said she’d call back when she returned. Three days passed by and nothing. I called back to speak with her and notified her of the issue and asked her to refund me for the items that were missed! She offered to replace one of the meals at my next visit. A couple of weeks later I returned to get the meal and also purchase more food. When Samantha initially came to the front she was acting as if she didn’t remember the conversation we had over the phone so I asked her if she had forgotten, she looked at me crazy and said “no” I let that slide and didn’t get an attitude back with her. While they were fixing my food I asked her to please assure they were making it right and she cut my off before finishing my statement and said “yeah they are” it’s crazy that the employees are more pleasant than the manager and for that alone I will not be returning!!
