Howdy Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Texas

I've always wanted to try this place. We like chicken strips. We like macaroni and cheese. So do my three boys. We ordered 3 kids meals with the chicken bites and macaroni. The descriptions should be bigger detailed. It doesn't say it it is all mixed together, and we weren't told about it. I assumed it was chicken bites and a side of macaroni and cheese. But when we get it there is also a big pile of coleslaw on it. That definitely was NOT in the description of the meal. My kids did not eat a single bite. I wouldn't have either. We don't like coleslaw. I wish I would've known. I got the strips with fries, and my strips were super soggy and mushy on half of each one. I let my kids have my fries and they didn't even like the fries, they said they tastes stale and old, and that they taste like nothing but old. Weird. I didn't taste one. I have sensitive and picky taste buds. We spent 80 bucks and only My husband ate his food. He too did not like it but he ate most of it, so it wouldn't be wasted away. He said he would never buy from there again though. Even the soda machines were a mess. Two were out of service, but the orange crush soda showed no tag on it so we tried that and it too needs a out of service tag. The fruit punch was the safest bet. The whole atmosphere feels sterile and just awkward. I walked in and didn't smell anything delicious and just knew I should've asked to leave, but we took a chance. Definitely won't try it again. Husband said Macaroni tasted okay but it wasn't yummy. My youngest tasted some macaroni that hubby got as a side and my son did not like the macaroni and cheese. So there's...

The owner obviously doesn't care about his/her customers. Just look at the reviews. The bad reviews are about the cashier and probably the same one I met. Young girl who got attitude and barely moving her feet. The cooks had about the same attitude. Went to pick up an order and the girl tells me the order ain't ready yet. She didn't even ask me for the name of the order. So... you already know this joint ain't top of their game. I tell her the name of my order. She tells me it's ready after all. And it got one plate...

My order had two items. And she was sure it's mine. The cooks there tells me it's mine.

Come one now..

They didn't want to take the time and effort. Why? Because they wanna call it a night already. They don't wanna work. They don't wanna do nothing.

Maybe it's real difficult to find good employees but this whole crew right there, on Friday night, around 10 PM... is not it.

I'm writing a long one, yeah. But I'm just surprised how any business owner would even waste their money on their wage. Sounds harsh but this ain't how you run your business... not with that sorry team.

So glad I finally got the chance to try out this place because it has been on my radar for so long, and it definitely did not disappoint! I ordered my food online, and I promptly picked it up at the restaurant. Also, the person who gave me my food was very nice!

♡ Regular Loaded Chicken Fries w/ medium heat. 9/10! Wowowowow this was love at first bite. Once I had a taste of the queso sauce, I just knew that everything else was going to be amazing. The waffle fries were perfectly crispy, fried chicken bites were well-seasoned, and the howdy slaw really brought it all together. I've also never had sweet pickles before, and I was surprised by how sweet and delicious it was. I love loaded fries, and this definitely satisfied my craving.
