Food was cold. I had the fried fish luann platter and it seemed that the half was more like a half of a half. Also, a family member was confronted by an employee that was standing on sidewalk as she was parking. Employee stated to family member that she had hit her. Which was not true. Family member told lady to ask for camera views from manager and so on. Employee went on a verbal rampage and even went on to my underage nieces face with vulgar language. Employee told family member she was going to call police department. Family member said that would be fine. That when pd arrived she would be inside eating. Sure enough pd was called and came into restaurant. Family member gave her statement and pd didnt make no report. Since it was a verbal altercation and employee was not hit by vehicle. Now as a Manager of the restaurant he should have come to see what was going on. At no time did he approach us. However, he did keep going outside when the employee was calling pd and after she left. Did he know the employee was planning on something, who knows? But what did happen was the following. There was a truck right next to family members vehicle and two other cars on the north part of parking lot looking suspicious. Pictures were taken of all three vehicles. The white and gray vehicle knew pictures were taken and seemed to finally leave away from us. However, the black truck started following family members. To make sure we were not assuming things. Family stopped at bank atm on same parking area of Luby's shopping center and truck parked also. I was in a different vehicle so we parked next to black truck. We figured if it was coincidence, the occupants of black truck will get off and go to atm after family members leave. This did not happen. Black truck followed family members out of shopping center and onto Jackson Rd. heading North. Family made a turn back to head to Pharr Police Department and black truck continued to follow. Family decides to call 911 and meet officers at a safe location. Report was taken. Police department was given information of all three vehicles in picture and a close up of the occupants in black truck. Which one was in fact the employee of Lubys restaurant. So, the reason for this review is that no matter if the employee was off the clock or not. If management knew of incident he should have at least come to us and asked if everything was ok or what was the situation. Let alone if he knew the employee had intentions of following or continue to flame the situation. MANAGEMENT DONT LET YOUR EMPLOYEES WALK...
Read moreWe placed a holiday catering order for our students at school. I went to pick it up and it didn't feel like 15 pounds of turkey. We checked when we got back to the school and it was definitely less. Last year we ordered less turkey and it was 2 trays.
I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. I explained we received only 1 tray and it couldn't be 15 pounds. He was nice but immediately dismissive. Without even checking or pretending to check, he told me it was definitely was 15 pounds in the one tray and they even gave us a pound extra and if I wanted to, I could buy more. We just simply weren't going to buy more.
Over an hour later I get a call from an employee asking if I had recently picked up an order and if I had gotten 1 tray or 2. I said just 1 and she apologized and said it was supposed to be 2. She was very nice and even delivered it to us. But the over confident manager was nowhere to be seen or heard from.
I think it is very telling that even after I pointed out a major issue to him, he didn't even care enough to admit his own mistake and attempt to correct it. By the time the turkey arrived, we had already prepared all the plates and were passing them out. It was far too late and at that point it wasn't really even needed because we couldn't really do anything with it. They gave us 2 free pies which was nice but not really needed and certainly wasn't enough to make up...
Read more😢 Let me start by saying, we are huge Luby's fans. From my Sunday-after-church childhood traditions to family dinners over the years, we have always made Luby's a regular choice. Until today, it's been as dependable as the traditions themselves. Everyone ordered their regular favorite and everyone was disappointed ☹️. The sweet tea and new 🥔 potatoes were the only thing that tasted familiar. The mash potatoes were my first disappointing bite they lacked flavor and tasted gritty, maybe it was just today i thought. Their was still hope I had my 2nd side, the famous Mac and cheese 🧀 it would redeem my plate for sure. 😭😭😭 One bite and I was in disbelief, it tasted horrible. My family thought 💭 at first it was just me but then they tasted their food and simultaneously a sigh 😔 of disappointment covered our table. We sent our sides back and felt bad but the waiter informed us that we were the 3rd family today to say the same. After analyzing each dish that was different than the way we remember it, I would guess somewhere someone is cutting costs. If I had to pick one ingredient that I think was being cut back on I would pick butter 🧈. I'm not sure if this is just a local change or a change from the new corporate offices. Ultimately if you wanted to know what a healthier Luby's taste like you've got it, tasteless. If anything changes please make a big public announcement 📣 so we...
