On 100+ degree day, ice cream just sounds refreshing. We hadn't had Marble Slab in a long time so we ventured out. The woman serving us was great - very accommodating and friendly. Good customer service. That's when it went south. The marble slab itself had remnants from prior orders including ice creams and candy. (We all know they should scrape it clean.) While fixing our order, another worker began picking up the topping spoons leaving our server one spoon to use on all toppings. Another worker had also begun mopping the guest area. We got our ice cream and sat down to enjoy it. It was delicious. However, the smell of bleach from mopping was overwhelming. It was 9:25 pm when we sat down to eat and they close at 10:00. We were the only guests and they could have (should have) waited until we finished to get a jump on their end of night tasks (especially mopping where we were sitting). We moved outside to finish due to the bleach smell inside. Sitting outside (on the only bench which is directly in front of the smelly trash can), we watched them pick up all the refrigerated toppings, cart them to the back and continue cleaning. The ice cream was good (5 stars) and our server was great (5 stars) but the feeling we were an inconvenience to the staff wanting to get out either before or right at 10:00 (1 star) will sadly leave us considering other options...
Read moreMy son wanted his birthday cake from here so I ordered what he wanted over the phone. The lady that took my order barely spoke English. I was a little concerned that my order was going to be wrong. I went the day next to pick up the cake and the young man said he didn’t know anything about a pick up. So we searched the case for my cake. I told him I placed it with someone who didn’t speak English and he said that was the store manager. Really??? We found the cake and as I thought it wasn’t correct. None of the toppings that I asked for were on the cake. The young man called her and she said they were mixed in the ice cream. I said I’d take it anyway. When we actually cut the cake it was vanilla and I ordered birthday cake and the toppings that she said were in there were so small you could barely taste them. I’m not prejudice an any way but if you’re going to run a business in the United States then you should learn English. Just the same as if you were in Mexico then you should learn Spanish.
I will NEVER order a cake from here again. Thanks for ruining my sons cake on...
Read moreThe part that I dislike the most is that they don't wear disposable gloves. You're handling food- even though you don't touch it, it's still food. They put my ice cream on my cone, handed it to me, and then pay. I was struggling to take my wallet out and grab my card and sign the receipt as the ice cream already started to melt. He did not put the ice cream in the cone very much, so it looked like it was about to fall out. Ice cream cone was quite stale, so I had to throw it away. The ice cream is regular, nothing too special. There are many options, but almost too many. They'll ask you what you want to order but you still don't know what you want because the line in front of you hides all the options. And you can't see the menu from the line unless you're right in front. Second time here and I'm not impressed. I'd much rather go to Baskin...
