First time I visited with my family. Food was actually good. It just so happened to be comedy night, Friday night. Jokes was alright until the comedian & the owner who was sitting at the back of the restaurant, started making snarky comments at each other going back and forth and it got uncomfortable so we left. Gave them a second try because I love my people and want to support them. Returned. Cook was not in kitchen told to wait, they didn’t have a couple things I wanted but ok I improvised. Asking for tartar sauce seems to be a HUGE issue. Guy at counter charged me $.50 for a very small cup, AFTER I gave him an $11 tip for simple taking my order! Ok, again I said, I’m gonna return because I expect growth, they are 5 mins from my house so very convenient to stop by and grab a bite. I returned this past weekend and will no longer. The food was straight trash and NOT edible. I ordered fish and shrimp basket, fish was salty. Boudin balls, qty 4. One ball was completely sour as if it’s been sitting out in the wrong temperature and refried a couple times. The other three was stale. At least a couple days old. They did not taste or smell fresh at all. Shrimp was not fried, they were overcooked with zero taste & dry. Ordered wings for daughter again with the extra salt, she couldn’t even finish eating it. Fries were terribly dry. Again, I requested extra tarter sauce was given, ONE. The ONLY thing that was edible was the red beans and rice but at that point I couldn’t eat anymore of this trash so it all got dumped. This spot could be cool but more care needs to be given by the owner. TASTE your food before serving it to people. You’re going to make someone sick. If someone tips you well, don’t make them pay for a couple extra condiments. I’ve also sent people here and they all complained. Third time,...

I'd been wanting to try this place for weeks, after a long day I decided to visit on a Friday. Upon entering there was a man on stage with a hand puppet trying to entertain ten people at best. I assumed it was some type of amateur night considering the location. Of course the performer decided to use me as part of his act, Before I could make it across the room to place my order he'd called me out of my name, made fun of my hair, and my appearance. After a few chuckles from the crowd he went on with his show, changing the subject. Not long after my order was placed he targeted me again, asking the cashier how much I’d payed, laughing calling me broke. I understood saying all of these nasty things about me in order to gain laughs, but he had little luck, it simply wasn’t funny. It's safe to say he had no material and felt harassing me as part of his act was appropriate considering my race and gender. I remained calm, sat at the bar waiting for my food. I even walked outside to take a call in attempt to deter him from attacking me, but he insisted leaving me anxious The two boudin balls were gross and over priced, the daiquiri had a strong presence of alcohol, glucose syrup was too strong to finish. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I was also humiliated by an adult man who believes in bullying women for entertainment. I visited with positive intentions of supporting a small business, but I left with regret. I didn’t sign up for an amateur...

I tried this restaurant for the 1st time a couple of days ago as I strongly believe in supporting our black owned restaurants & businesses. I ordered the N.O.L.A stir fry with the 2 egg rolls, & the fried catfish & shrimp plate with red beans & rice, & potato salad. The egg roll are hands down some of the best egg rolls I have had especially with their signature sauce! the Chinese restaurant’s need to learn from them how to make delicious egg rolls. The potato salad was actually really good to my surprise as I’m not a fan of restaurant or store bought potato salad but their’s is really Good, like homemade it’s not clunky with big chunks. The NOLA stir fry was to salty & I believe they are adding to much soy-sauce. I only ate a few bites of it. My husband had the fish & shrimp basket which were both a little to salty & if I think it’s a little to salty then it’s salty. I’m a creole girl, so I love my Spice’s & seasonings. I liked it so much I referred my girlfriend & she went & Loved it as well! food is good, the service was good & the owner was prompt & professional & the vibe is down to earth & family oriented. I sent my...

A nice little hidden gem. I came here last year during Lent, after searching for some home-cooked tasting food. Honestly, I kind of forgot about the spot, then on Good Friday, they popped into my head. Glad I went back, great tasting food for a very reasonable price. I got the shrimp poboy, like I did last time and it's good flavor and for the right price! Very friendly staff. I will definitely make a point to return.

Food was excellent, so were the daiquarires. I had a fish poboy and a shrimp poboy, both were excellent and some of the best I've had. Filé gumbo didn't disappoint and was very hearty. Prices are very good for the quality and quantity of food. Can't say enough good things about this eatablishment. Definitely come here with everyone you know.
