Taqueria Arandas & Sport Bar FM-529 — Restaurant in Texas

I took my wife and kids for a Sunday lunch. I've been going to taqueria arandas since i was a kid. The food is usually decent. We ordered a torta, gordita, burrito, and 2 children's plates. The waitress was so friendly and asked if i wanted mozarella melted cheese or queso fresco in my burrito. I remember they used to use queso de quesadilla, which is similar to mozzarella but better. I like melted cheese, so i said the mozzarella was good. The food was not great but wasn't bad either. When I bit into my burrito, it had queso fresco. I let the waitresses know and she was very nice. She took they burrito and had it remade for me. I asked if she could make it to go because we had finished eating and it would be good for dinner. A few hours after I got home, I decided to eat some of my burrito. I bit it a couple of times and didn't notice the melted cheese. So i bit again and found it had queso fresco again. I would usually just let it go but felt they needed to know they needed to improve this aspect of their restaurant. When I arrived at Arandas again, the waitresses' expression completely changed from before. I told her they put the wrong cheese but made sure I didn't speak to her with attitude because I was sure it wasn't her fault. She looked at the burrito I brought back and said that because I ate some of the burrito that they would only give me half a burrito. I thought they were kidding but she brought me half a burrito and sent me on my way. I didn't even bother arguing. I just left. I was very disappointed on how they handled their mistakes. I will not be going back again. of course i had to throw away my half burrito because who knows what they may have done to it. This was my personal experience so it may not happen to you. Just know that the food is mediocre at best and pray they don't make a mistake with your order. Eat here at...

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Avoid this location at all costs, they really deserve ZERO STARS. First I arrive and they are only accepting cash; while this is already an inconvenience, ok no problem I go get the cash and return.

While placing my order, the older lady at the counter took an extremely long time taking my order and when I asked for salsa, she tells me that I can only have 3 small 2 oz salsa cups with my order of SEVEN TACOS. What?!! The other location on Hwy 6 does not practice this kind of nonsensical rationing of salsa and when I mention that to her, she replies “Different owners, I can’t do anything about it”. At that point I say ok, can I pay for the extra salsa? And she replies “It’s $2.50 for a 4 oz salsa”. That’s absurd, but I go ahead and pay for it to avoid continuing this negative and argumentative experience.

Once my order comes, the 5 taquito plate is supposed to include a grilled jalapeño and that is not in there, nor would she give it to me because “they have changed the menu from what’s online”. Would it really have hurt to give me the damn jalapeño or at the least allow me to pay for it?? In addition, the steak fajita meat looked like ground beef to which she replied there was nothing wrong with it and I was ALSO charged extra to mix the 5 taquito plate with 3 steak fajita and 2 shrimp. Again…the highway 6 location has NEVER given me this problem or this unfriendly, argumentative and poor customer service.

Myself or someone in my household orders Togo from here at least once a week. Recently I called in my order for 8 breakfast tacos for me an my family of 4 paid $32 and change for the order. I went to pick the order up, got home to find only 5 tacos in the bag. I called back up to the restaurant to let them know and after arguing with me about it a few minutes, the lady finally said they would be ready in a few minutes and to come pick them up. I drove back up to the restaurant and Bereneice was extremely rude, again telling me I got 8 tacos. I let her know again that I only had 5 tacos! I don't have to lie or steal tacos nor waste my time going back up to the restaurant multiple times for any. Although she told me over the phone to come back, the tacos were not ready and she proceeded to argue with me and accused me again of lying about 3 TACOS! She finally gave me what I paid for, slammed them on the counter and told me I'm going to go to jail!!! I asked to speak to the manager, I was told they would be there the next day. I called the next day and was told the same thing. The lady,, Berneice I, dealt with is ALWAYS RUDE and I usually do not like to deal with her and is why I never dine in. She needs to be replaced.
